Quin Snyder Agrees to Long-Term Extension

Houston: Worst teammates or not, they're extremely talented and were healthy.
Dallas: Matthews played 78 games. Nowitzki played 75 games. Zaza played 76 games. Barea played 74. Deron played 65. Parsons 61. That's 63 missed games by their top six players. Burks missed 51. Exum 82. Hayward 2. Favors 20. Gobert 21. Hood 3. That's 179 missed games (almost three times as many as Dallas) by our top six players.
Memphis: They played well. When healthy. When they weren't, they completely fell apart with a 3-14 finish to the season. Let's not pretend as if they played great through those injuries. And hell, Gasol only missed 30 games, Conley 26 and Randolph 14. Exum himself had 12 more than that.
Portland: Lillard is a stud and Stotts might be a top five coach right now. That doesn't mean Quin sucks or that we underwhelmed.
Clippers: Yeah, Chris Paul missed a whole 8 games. Griffin missed 47. Again, that's just 55 games. Burks himself missed almost more than that. And let's not pretend like the Clips don't have a deep team.

So yeah, I am going to give Quin a pass. He's not above criticism but your examples above sucked.

Good post. It's amazing how much some people are downplaying the injuries that this team sustained over the course of the season. To ask for much more, especially when considering the individual progress that players such as Lyles, Neto, etc made through out the year, is placing unreasonable expectations on Snyder. For a 2nd year head coach, I think he made the most of what easily could have been (& likely would have been for many coaches) a potentially terrible situation.

Can you imagine going through that season with Corbin as coach? Even thinking about it is painful.

I tried, it was extremely painful. Not only would we have likely lost 55+ games, Lyles, Neto, & possibly even Hood would've been buried on the bench while making little to no developmental progress in what would have been the definition of a wasted season.

One elite 8 run and other then that VERY pedestrian
last 3 years OUCH, A coach is supposed to improve, He did not...
Never finished higher then5th in the Big12..
He isn't very good, Not sure why yall gave him a extension

Corbin sucks but Snyder is good. LOL

WHY?
Corbin had winning record in 2 of his first 3 years, Quinn will not be able to say this. so why does Corbin suck and Quinn does not. I think it is becauyse Quinn is white. I honestly think that's why because the numbers say if you all are going bash Corbin and say he sucks, Then you have to say that with Snyder as well but most of you do not...

I think you're really on to something here. It's so obvious if you think about.

Jazz have some good quality pieces
They need someone who can be the MAN and they need a good coach. That's only two things yall are missing.
Next year will be 3 straight losing season for Quinn..

On outside looking in along with
Memphis- At this point many unkowns about them so ill keep them on the outside looking in
Denver- Improving big time and 3 first rounders. Expect maybe them to move up in draft or draft well
Minny- Towns is a star that Utah does not have and Wiggins is a better player then anyone on Utah and he is the Robin in Minny
Pelicans- Disappointing year but Davis is a SUPERSTAR

Utah is in this bunch but im sorry you do not have the star you need to take you over the hump. It is true. 3 straight losing seasons Buddy

Lets not Count Ty Corbin when he took over mid year. His first 2 full years
Corbin 79 wins and 69 losses
Quin 78 wins 86 losses.

Also Corbin first full season only played 66 games due to the lockout. Even playing less games he
HAS MORE WINS IN FIRST 2 YEARS THEN QUIN DOES.
So Corbin sucks but Quin is a good young coach

Someone present some darn facts before you step up to the plate with me. I just drop stats for you nerds. Went to your game. Still schooling yall.

Fact: Experience matters
Fact: Injuries matter

Fact: Tyrone Corbin's winning % in his first (full) season as a head coach in the NBA was .545 (66 games)

Jerry Sloan's winning % in his first season as a head coach in the NBA was .366

Brad Stevens' winning % in his first season as a head coach in the NBA was .305

Gregg Popovich's winning % in his first season as a head coach in the NBA was .266

Fact: Having a better winning % doesn't necessarily make you a better coach

Oh man I forgot about them all start Tinsley Mo Williams and Evans..
I never said Corbin was a good coach either. I have been saying Quin is not a good coach. Corbin is my example because yall love to bash the man but he has better stats then Quin and I lay them out for you. A reason why Corbin isn't a nba coach, He isn't very good. Hey I agree with yall on that BUT I think Quin is doo doo too.
