I don't get the love for McCaw. Like you said, skinny, not athletic. I don't get it.
I'm pretty sure he played PG most of his life until he grew a lot his junior or senior year.Am I completely off base in thinking that McCaw might be more of a PG than a SG?
He is playing PG in these combine 5-on-5's and he looks pretty good in that role. Dude is built like a complete tooth pick and doesnt seem all that athletic, but he has quick hands and he runs the PNR nicely.
I think I may try to go back into DX archives starting soon and once a day post a profile for a former draftee. Someone picked in the 8-20 range. Someone who, quite obviously being drafted where he was, wasn't a slam dunk, and I will do this to, more than anything, see whether his flaws were exposed or improved upon, his strengths put on display, now years later as we reflect.
Maybe from this, we find some commonalities.
Well I came away from the combine liking him a lot more. He has a lot of skills. While he isnt explosive, it's not like he is a stiff. He has some sneaky athletic ability on defense combined with a lot of length.
I'd put him ahead of Beasley now. Seems like he has more potential with his advanced feel for the game.
What were Qi's verts, shuttle and sprint?
Pretty good
31 standing
32 max
2.90 shuttle
3.46 sprint
11.27 agility
Let's compare that to Favors and Gobert. Someone?
His defense has always been what i have liked. I have always said that you can teach proper defensive positing but you cant teach the desire to play it.
Mccaw reminds me of kendall gill the way he plays defense.
That fact he is a good 3 pt shooter is a bonus. The jazz need shooting and a lock down defender.
Pretty good

Kendall Gill was a great athlete. I haven't seen much of Mcaw game so that some mighty praise for him as Gill is one of my all time favorite players and a great guy. Used to come to park while an Illini and play pickup games with us kids on the weekends.
Hadn't been mentioned and wow.Not sure if it's been posted.
Thon Maker, who measured in at 7’0.75, had the highest ever max vertical (36.5 in.) and standing vertical (32 in.) for a player over 6'11.
