Does Kanter show Jazz made mistake in these playoffs ......

For the record, I never liked Kanter, he reminds me of a sheep. I was at the draft party that year and walked away feeling empty. I wanted Jonas V. and Kawai.

It is however fair to say Kanter was mismanaged while he was with the Jazz. The defining characteristic of the post Boozer Jazz was mismanagement. I believe that has now changed, but we will be reminded of it for years to come.

In other news, isn't it awesome that the Jazz helped create the two Western Conference Finalists?

And, what are the chances that Pops and RC will take away Lindsey's Spurs card for giving the Thunder Kanter for a box of beans?

Kanter was a 21/22 year old kid from Turkey, what kid tells a long established NBA team what they want to do and get what they want
There was obviously more to it. Kanter's unhappiness was just part of it. The Jazz had apparently pretty much ignored his discontent since his second year. There were other factors. His lack of effort, poor defense, the rise of Gobert, and his impending RFA. All teams have to make decisions about players like Kanter as they approach RFA.
.
What I'm trying to tell you is that it's pointless to start and perpetuate threads like this because the majority of Jazz fans liked Kanter and wanted him to stick around. We didn't show him the door, he let himself out. So don't expect us to feel like we made some huge mistake and be remorseful. We're only sorry we traded him to a contender in our own division and that we didn't get more for him.

Well said with one addition. It is ridiculous for anyone to act like we could have gotten more than we did. It has to be obvious than any team will get as much as they can in return for any trade. What OKC offered was the best offer out there. And like it or not Kanter had to go. His immaturity and antics forced the issue which is part of why his trade value was as low as it was. I always liked Enes and hope he grows up. If he does, he will have a nice NBA career. Seems like he has turned a corner in a new environment which is a good thing. And I am betting that most if not all of us prefer Rudy which is created this whole issue to begin with.

Kanter was a 21/22 year old kid from Turkey, what kid tells a long established NBA team what they want to do and get what they want, especially a foreign kid. 23 yr old now and a 4th quarter player now for OKC ....who can go to the finals against GS if they win at home

This is all moot because the Jazz would've had to give Kanter the max to keep him. We already have Gobert, Favors, and now Lyles, screw giving the max to a 4th big who also happens to be the worst defensive center in the NBA.

Kanter trolls act like Utah's mistake was not hanging onto him and giving him the max to keep him, which is just laughable.

You really think Kanter would be a 4th big behind Lyles? Mad disrespect there. Utahs mistake was drafting Kanter in the first place. Jazz deepest position was big man and drafting Kanter with Al Jefferson, Paul Milsap, and Derrick Favors already was just not a great idea.

Between the shoulder and knee injuries, poor defense and trade demand - he just didn't have any value on the trade market. I wonder what Portland offered for him. I advocated trading him before the season began or (once Rudy had started to look amazing) to have him play all his minutes with Gobert to help him on defense and allow him to focus on offense and put up big numbers before they traded him.

Kanter was the only player last year for OKC to play all 82 games. Favors has missed more time due to injury than Kanter has.

Anyone care to join me on the Tibor Pleiss bandwagon?

I meant 4th in terms of number of bigs that would be in the rotation, not his place in the rotation. Wouldn't want to give the max to a fourth big when we already have now three extremely solid bigs.

I'm already on the bandwagon (we are a small minority in Jazz-ville). I watched most of his Idaho games this year and think he can be a serviceable backup who can space the floor a bit. I think Lindsay and Snyder covet a shooting 7-footer. The question is how much defense can they get from him and how much strength can he gain so that he is an adequate inside presence. I've heard some rumors about Withey not being back and if this is true this means the team has some belief in Pleiß.

I think he needs to go the summer league and play a lot and play a lot in international competititon over the summer. He was a relatively 2nd round pick when he was drafted so someone saw something in him.

It's pretty funny some people getting excited that Kanter scored what .. 8 points and managed to not get obliterated playing against a pair of 45 year olds and a guy who's known for his playoff disappearing acts. His block was pretty cool to watch but c'mon he stuffed Timmy who has NO legs left and might need a walking frame to get on the court soon. Bit of perspective plz

The trainers worked on his lower body throughout and I think it helped, especially in defensive lateral movement.

He has trained much harder than he ever did in Utah. In Utah the trainers tried to get him to go do sports performance training and P3 stuff but he wanted to do bodybuilding to look good.

Even if Thunder get swept vs the GSW this Thunder team and Kanter have gone against many of your guys predictions. They beat a historically good team in the 67 win Spurs including twice in their home stadium. Time to eat crow. Won't mention any names.

I suspect the tune will change against GSW, I don't think OKC can leave Kanter in to play against GSW small ball. GSW would destroy Kanter on the pnr. True they will give up some points to OKC in the paint, but trading curry's threes for Kanter's twos is a trade GSW will win.

Before Kanter is anointed to be the next Roy Hibbert can we get a little perspective? Timmy is old, LMA is an over rated pick n pop player who doesn't like contact, and David west is an undersized pick n pop who has a giant heart, but not the length to match, and Buubleboy is still developing.

If anyone deserves credit it should be the OKC coach for recognizing the Spurs weakness and making the adjustment.

Still a historically good team and one of the best defensive teams of all time. Tim Duncan has a 5+ DRPM which is is the stat many of you guys use to say Kanter is unplayable. Even if the bigmen for Spurs are as bad as you say they are they are still a 67 win team. When is the last time the Utah Jazz had a 67 win season? If beating the spurs is not as large of an accomplishment as your making it out to be why didn't I see you making any predictions that OKC would beat the spurs before the game?
