Following 2016 potential draftees

Drafting Korkmaz at 12th seems a bit too high imo. If the Jazz traded the 12th pick to Boston for their 16th and 23rd and then used the 23rd pick to draft Korkmaz which I'd finally be okay with. Use the 16th to draft Thon or Skal

Here's an interesting excerpt from the combine weekend:

DeAndre Bembry:*An old-school player who’s been a winner at every level. Bembry is a 3+D wing without a consistent 3-point shot, but he performed well at the combine and his defense has never been an issue. He’s the kind of player who may go late in the first round and wind up outlasting some of the more heralded players chosen ahead of him.

If the Jazz really do trade down, I hope they take a serious look at Bembry. He's my pick for sleeper in the draft.

How can you be a 3&D player and shoot 28% from college 3?

Looks like Jaylen Brown could be slipping a bit, don't think he gets to us though.

I'm not that high on him. What does he do well? He's a good athlete, good size, but isn't much of a shooter, ball handler or defender. His athleticism is appealing, but his skills + IQ aren't.

I would say the NBA folks would agree with the IQ part after his interviews.

Lots of potential it seems. Pretty much what you all said though. I haven't heard about his interviews. The jazz for one at the combine though.

I think because players are athletic with good size, we always say they have lots of potential. I feel like we're wrong on that. If they don't have skills, then there's not much potential. Look at James Young for a recent example.

Anybody else hating this draft? I feel like it has the potential to be as bad as the 2013 draft. I have very few favorites and a lot of meh players in this one...

I have complete faith in DL and although speculating is the pick fun I feel super thankful we have DL as our GM. Like a lot of you, I was not happy with the Lyles pick - especially during the first portion of the season when Lyles was offensively inept. And then the light switch turned on in Lyles' head and he started scoring in droves.

In DL We Trust.

The 2013 Draft has few stars but most guys selected in the first round are rotation guys at the very least (as Burke reads this he grits his teeth, pissed off he was the exception this season).

I think this draft will be similar - but there will likely be more busts in the first round of this draft.

If I was drafting 3-9ish I think it is a bit disappointing. I think we are in a good spot though. 12th pick historically hasn't been great. If we land a good bench player or player with starting potential it's a win. Also, think there will be opportunities to move back or forward because the flatness of the draft after the first two picks. This draft may resemble the 2013 draft if you threw out the top 2 guys.

Depending on what is available I'd strongly consider moving back. Looking at DX today... they had Ellenson and Luwawu available at 12. If we came away with either of those guys I'd be pretty happy. I may be the only guy on Valentine Island right now, but I'd also be happy with him. We need more shooters and he can do that.
