Gordon Hayward trade.

This trade does not make us better and does not bring us star. I just don't see us trading an asset like Hayward for a point guard. Whether you believe in him or not, the Jazz are fully committed to Exum. He will start on opening night and will play 28-30 minutes a game.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was traded.

We definitely have a better relationship with GH than we did with Deron - seemed pretty clear D-Will wouldn't re-sign here. So I think there's more hope he'd re-sign. But no guarantees.

We'd have to get a damn good package in return, though.

If you trade for Lowry your giving up on Dante and Lowry doesn't fit the timetable. Also, Lowry has not been very good in the playoffs... Sure you want him? You must not think much of Hayward if you do this trade and didn't Trey Lyles impress you enough in his rookie season that you are excited about what he could grow into.. He's very talented offensively at his size.

I hate this trade idea.

U know the op is bad when the batboy is running circles around the op

It's just an idea for Christ's sake.

I don't like KL too much. I would prefer a Dante style athlete on the lead spot. His size and speed and reaction are perfect to let him pull strings or learn how to do so. Only maybe if you can get D Will but even this is not 100% but is sure a nice picture. Build on Dante and Lyles. And Rudy. Keep Hood, Favors and Alec. Don't care för the rest.

will Lowry be commited as Gordon, i don't think so.
Gordon in UTAH has something to prove. Kyle will treat us as failure.

my opinion.

A terrible idea. Giving up 3 lottery picks for Kyle Lowry? Are you kidding me?

Raptors trade- K. Lowry and J. Valanciunas
Raptors get- A. Johnson, M. Smart, K. Olynyk, T. Lyles, 3rd pick, 12th pick, Nets 1st rd 2017 pick, Celtics 1st rd pick 2017.

Holy ish. Da Throne must be a closet Raptors fan. That haul for Kyle Lowry and Jonas?

There are a lot of idiot Internet GM's here.

Let me get this straight....

We get Lowry and the dude from Boston for Hayward Trey Lyles 12th pick and a first next year? Doooood is on drugs!!!

Hayward is better then both players, and Lyles may one day be as well, and Lowry wouldn't even be the best pg on the team in a year or two. That's a heavy price to pay for a place setter to Exum.

Da has always come across as not being very high on Hayward, and has always come across as an idiot. Can't say I'm shocked by this level of stupidity from him, quite possibly the dumbest trade idea ever on this board.

The Raptors are in the ECF mostly due to Lowry and Val. And before people try to take away from that accomplishment every team they beat are better than the Jazz. Also part of this haul is due to Hayward so for the Raptors to get that haul it's a combination of Lowry, Val, and Hayward.

Clearly people on the Jazz site values Hayward far more than I do. Which I guess should be expected. But looking at their respective NBA accomplishments I have no idea how the case could be made that Hayward is on Lowry level's as a player yet beyond it. The only argument IMO is the age factor. In a league where one individual can have such a huge impact the idea that Hayward could have 6 season in this league and zero playoff appearances yet is so heavily defended is amazing to me. What has Hayward done to warrant so much value?

What was so funny? LMAO isn't a counter point. It's more of cop out.

Kyle Lowry = 2 Time All-Star who is 30 years old and a 6' tall PG. Also a complete bust in the playoffs. His team has gotten far this year off of luck, Whiteside being injured, and a crappy Eastern Conference.

Jonas = Good starter. Nothing amazing, still young though.

So for those 2 players (1 of which is a 30 year old 6' tall PG who is probably going to be on the decline soon)they are going to get:

Amir Johnson: Very good bench big

Marcus Smart: One of the best defensive guards in the NBA and who is still very young

Kelly Olynyk: One of the few stretch 7'ers in the league who can hit the 3pt shot at a very high rate

Trey Lyles: A very talented young PF who showed a 3pt shot in his rookie year as well as a diverse set of offensive skills

3rd Overall Pick: Dragan Bender most likely who looks like a very good player IMO

12th Overall Pick: Not an insanely good draft in the late lottery ,but a lottery pick nonetheless

Nets Pick next Year: Are you ****ing kidding me? This is a gold mine pick in what is projected to be an insnae draft class. This is the biggest LMAO of the bunch and shows how terrible your proposal was.

Celtics 1st Rounder Next Year: Will be a pick in the 20's most likely. Still nothing to sneeze at as you gift them a cherry on top of the best banana split any Canadian has ever tasted.

I had to read his post twice. Couldn't figure if he was being serious or not.

Not all situations are created equal. First, Hayward does have playoff experience. I think 3rd year maybe second year I forget. He was still young then and not half the game he has now. Since then he's been on a team rebuilding on one of the youngest teams in the league. Before last year who exactly was on this team that could help Hayward make the playoffs?? Before last year he didn't even have a coach that knew what was going on. The Jazz easily make the playoffs if not for mass injuries.

BTW. Lowry only has 2 years left on his deal. So the Raptors are getting 8 assets (many of which are elite level assets) of an aging PG on a close to expiring deal. Rich.

For this package to be a realistic possibility, they would have to sign and trade Derozan to include him in the deal.

Even then: Valaciunas/Derozan/Lowry or Dragan Bender/Trey Lyles/ Kelly Olynyk/Marcus Smart/Amir Johnson/12th Overall Pick/A High Chance at the 1st Overall Pick Next Year/Boston's Pick Next Year

I'd take the side with Lyles on it TBH.

This a horrible trade for the Jazz. First of all, Hayward is clearly better than Lowry, and besides we don't need Lowry, we have Exum -- if it were Lillard, then it might be a different story. Crowder is a good player but we have plenty of wings and I think Hood is better. Terrible trade for the Jazz. They give up a bunch of assets and don't improve the team, certainly not if you want to build for the future.

First of all I'm surprised at the Monson commentary and then after reading thru this thread and hearing they took down his mural, maybe there is something to this talk. All I can say is the Jazz better get something good for Hayward -- the # 3 and Crowder, maybe?

lowry is a choke artist, take it from me I see him play in Toronto all the time. He is great in the regular season and disappears in the playoffs. Hayward > Lowry don't talk foolishness.
