Following 2016 potential draftees

I think my homer pick might be Wade Baldwin. I like his length and the efficiency I see in his movement.

I see a lot of playmaking ability in Korby but your assessment is a fair one there. It's not with Batum. Batum isn't anything special. He was drafted around 25 for a reason. Luwawu is very similar. A long wing with elite defensive potential, athleticism and can hit the 3.

If the Jazz with Exum and Gobert can replicate the defense they played when they led a dominant Utah team defensively,then another defensive player isn't needed.Jazz need another offensive weapon for the close games they lose in the 4th quarter.

Well, I mean... he's alright creating, but keep in mind Ginobili is one of the most offensively creative players in the history of the league. And Batum has turned into a great offensive creator, too. That's not to say Luwawu can't get there, but right now he's getting more TOs than assists and is shooting under 40% from the field and that's two years in a row now...

I agree that batum is over rated. Big time.
 
And sefalosha? Yuck.
 
I have Malachi Richardson rated ahead of Timothe Luwawu. Richardson is a bit younger and appears much more versatile offensively. I think Luwawu starts becoming a good pick around 15 in this draft when the draft starts running out of quality bigs.

I can see the comp to Sefalosha. I can also see some Doug Christie. His dream ceiling seems like Jimmy Butler, but it depends on his ball skills. I think he's a spot-up shooter and slasher on the wing, but not much of a creator with the ball at this stage. I'm not sure if he has much mid-range game.

I don't think this is a fair question because neither of these guys are either Ginobli or Batum (I don't see Ginobli at all in the Kork guy).

You can have the argument about BPA v Need but I think the Jazz desperately need that 3-and-D wing. Gordon and Exum are very good defenders on the perimeter but that's it on the roster. In the position the Jazz are in, I believe they should hammer home this defensive identity. That's the team we saw at the end of 2015 season, an incredible defensive team with Exum and Elijah Millsap. Imagine an Elijah Millsap like defender that could hit the 3 with Exum back in the rotation. That's why I would go Luwawu. Baldwin and Prince are good prospects too.

Will he be in 7 years? That's when Manu entered the league. We are dealing with unsculpted clay here.
 
Someone mentioned Brent Barry as a comp for Korkmaz (I think Crododile). I could see that. There are similarities in terms of skill level and game impact.

Damn? Really? I love him. I think we can use a player like that. He just had a 15-6-6 season. He's better distributor than anybody on our roster and better rebounder than any of our wings. He might also be better defender than any wing on our roster. I wouldn't mind maxing him for a couple of years(2+1). (because it's not very likely we can use our money much better).

Fair enough. I'm probably wrong then. I guess when I watch him and his teams play I just hardly notice him out there.
 
I do like Baldwin as a sleeper pick. He seems like a solid power-PG in the Billups/DWill mode, and he has some nice athleticism.

If I had to bet, I'd say he would never reach that level. Again - keep in mind we are talking about one of the most flashy, skillful and creative players in the history of the league.

Couldn't they also win by playing good defense and great offense? More than one way to skin a cat imo and last year I saw a lot of ugly *** offense.

Sometimes you can hide a bad defender and you can have a great defensive scheme and defensive minded coach.

You always need to put the ball in the hoop though. I think great offense beats great defense quite often. I often see a player play perfect defense and still get scored on by better offense.

But neither one of us is right or wrong. We just have different perspectives and preferences.

I have always liked offense better than defense (in football too), it's just my preference.
