Following 2016 potential draftees

Murray won't make it past 7 and even that I doubt... Unless there is a major injury in between now and the draft id say he's 95% likely to go top 6. Denver would be doing cartwheels if he fell to 7 and would ask for a random to trade the pick.

I am getting old, so I don't get most of the Millenial's euphemisms, but I don't want to know in this case.

I need to post a thread about the ridiculousness of defining millennials as a generation. Demographers are getting lazy. "It's the millennium let's call it a generation and arbitrarily define it based on an "event" that has no significance other than on a calendar." IIRC most people are defing millenials as people who came of age around the millennium or were born just before it. So about 1980 to 2000. Really the center of the millennial generation is arguably the border between two separate generations. WWII and the resulting baby boom is still rippling through our population and is still the clearest moment with which we can/should define a generation by. During the earlier half of the so called millennials birth years most of them were still being birthed by boomer parents, it isn't until the latter half of the "millennial" generation that gen-xers started to take over parenting duties from the boomers. Maybe I'll get a hair up my *** to pull the birth data but until then, **** it.

Ransom is what is was supposed to say... There is this newfangled doohickey called autocorrect and it changes words it thinks may be wrong. I'm also not a millennial have never worn skinny jeans and paid my way through college with no debt... Not mad just letting you know.

Locke seems to like Baldwin...

Watching Wade Baldwin. Wishing for more assertiveness, but also realize this may make him better pro who can play with teammates.

I'm very much for adding another flexible big. Stuff I've seen this year unfortunately suggest that unless Gobert makes a major leap offensively in terms of improving his hands, his timing on dives and becoming more assertive in getting and converting putbacks, there will be lineups where you'll sit and play a more flexible lineup to establish a flow on offense. Favors is kind of like a best case PF/C hybrid. He has rim protection value, length and strength. He also adds enough skill to not ruin spacing. Lyles is interesting, but I want another big you can pair with Favors that adds another dimension. Maybe Lyles will develop into the guy I envision. But I want a PF that's better in PnR defense. He's a rook, so maybe he'll develop. But a 6'8" - 6'9" guy with swift feet and good IQ to orchestrate the screening defense and consistently switch would be very good long term.
I also don't dislike Withey. I think he's solid. But he doesn't offer something Gobert can't do already. Flexibility is key.
On the wing we need shooting and a perimeter disruptor. With shooting being more important as Gobert is still very good at annoying high level wings around the basket, allowing mediocre defenders to deny the shooting just a little bit more.
I like the playmaking. Hayward is smart. I think Exum will be good. Burks and Hood can attack. We're good there.

It's called the "edit" button.

I hope this means the Jazz are targeting him.

From the sounds of it, DL looks at every scenario possible and the weighs the cost. I'm sure they've looked at him but if he goes top 5 then my guess is that the cost will be too great.

Like I said earlier in this thread, getting top 3 talent in any draft is hard. If the Jazz can keep all of Exum, Hood, Hayward, Favors, Gobert and Lyles and can add Murray then I think you HAVE to do it. Those late first rounders in 2017 and 2018 most likely will not be top level talent from the draft. Heck, I'd even consider giving up a Jazz first round pick in order to land him.

IMO of course........

Which stretch big is also good on defense?

Qi actually looks very good on both ends potentially. And no I'm not recommending we take him at 12.

Toronto is going to lose biyombo, ddr and probably ross. They will have a few holes to fill. They also desperately need a good stretch 4.

I read an article yesterday suggesting they will move Jonas V. and Ross in order to keep Biyombo and DeRozan. Patterson and Bruno Caboclo are also available.

I wouldn't mind the Jazz snagging Patrick Patterson from them for the 60th pick. The Jazz were supposedly interested in Caboclo in his draft year, but I hope they stay away now.

I think Ross is available and maybe Carroll. Think they retain DDR as it sounds now like the Lakers aren't that high on him. Don't think they would move JV unless it was for something pretty good. Patterson is cheap and is a leader on that team... don't think he gets moved unless they have to.

I could see us having interest in Ross but I'd try to get a pick for him because I'm not sure he's worth all of his extension. Maybe something like Ross plus the #27th pick for unguaranteed contracts. We'd have to bring in a third team (like BKN) and trade Burke + Tibor for a Jarret Jack's unguaranteed deal. We could add the OKC pick or some second rounders. I think the 3rd team may try to cut us out of that deal though.

Flawed or not, how the **** does Toronto not retain DDR? They just took Cleveland to gae 6 of the ECF.
