I'm very much for adding another flexible big. Stuff I've seen this year unfortunately suggest that unless Gobert makes a major leap offensively in terms of improving his hands, his timing on dives and becoming more assertive in getting and converting putbacks, there will be lineups where you'll sit and play a more flexible lineup to establish a flow on offense. Favors is kind of like a best case PF/C hybrid. He has rim protection value, length and strength. He also adds enough skill to not ruin spacing. Lyles is interesting, but I want another big you can pair with Favors that adds another dimension. Maybe Lyles will develop into the guy I envision. But I want a PF that's better in PnR defense. He's a rook, so maybe he'll develop. But a 6'8" - 6'9" guy with swift feet and good IQ to orchestrate the screening defense and consistently switch would be very good long term.
I also don't dislike Withey. I think he's solid. But he doesn't offer something Gobert can't do already. Flexibility is key.
On the wing we need shooting and a perimeter disruptor. With shooting being more important as Gobert is still very good at annoying high level wings around the basket, allowing mediocre defenders to deny the shooting just a little bit more.
I like the playmaking. Hayward is smart. I think Exum will be good. Burks and Hood can attack. We're good there.
