Following 2016 potential draftees

I'm surprised Ellenson is sliding. I think he could be a player similar to Jokic... I realize there are some things he will probably always suck at, but guys like him also create issues for the other team. I think he will also provide some rim protection and rebounding so he won't be a complete negative on the defensive end.

Ellenson is not sliding I do not think. This is just one persons mock draft. Ford still has him much higher. Would Toronto pass if he is still on the board?

True... I do think of him as a center not a PF. If Poetl was there I think that is great value for Toronto. If I was New Orleans I'd think long and hard about him. Fits a need and should be able to contribute now. They need rotation players and guys with upside.

If Murray indeed falls to 8 it might be worth pouncing on it and giving up some assets to get him.

It would still be tough... You aren't trading 12 plus stuff for 8 once he falls... you are trading 12 plus stuff for Murray. It would probably hinge on how the Kings value AB.

It would be similar to what Boston tried to do with Charlotte last year.

That said I'd try like hell to do it.

It will all depend on how high the Kings value Murray. Of course if they think he's a future star, it makes it really hard to trade that.

I guess the point is - you have to find the team in 5-8 range that doesn't like anybody too much or likes 6-7 players about the same, so they've be OK moving back while collecting extra assets. It won't necessarily be the Kings, it might be NOP or Denver.

.@DejounteMurray most upside of any PG in draft. Think he goes between 10-20. Bucks, Jazz, Grizz, Pacers like him.

... Locke might have given up our pick again... :P

I was speaking more to the crowd that say it's just 4 spots to move up... It can't cost that much.

Last year it would have cost a ton to move to 9 or 10.

Your second point is correct. I'm not sure who would have motivation to move back. Best guess is NOP... Just because the GM needs to start winning now.

Again I think it hinges on how teams value AB or our willingness to move either lyles or hood.

So you really think Toronto would pick Poetl or Maker and Richardson will be drafted in the second round? Yes i think Givony is one of the best though, but does not mean he is always right.

He has a nice mix of skills, but isn't elite at anything yet. A lot depends on whether his shooting gains consistency. If it does, he's a tough rebounding, stretch-shooting big who doesn't suck on defense. Still, I think from the Jazz's standpoint, Lyles is better overall.

I'll have to listen to what he said but how does he know he doesn't have the it factor... He's watched a handful of games... The kid is 20... Unless he's sat and talked to him hard to say he doesn't have high potential when he has the physical profile and athleticism to be a high potential guy. Also pretty productive player at a very young age.

Part of it is probably Baldwin's defensive effort against Jamal Murray in that game where Murray just toasted him.

It's also not the final mock draft. I do suspect the players you named creep up into the first round.

This mock reminded me of last year when people were talking about the Knicks taking Lyles... there is some shock value to it but he is likely just listening to his resources... they may be feeding him poop.

I think Malachi Richardson goes late lottery or mid-first round based on physical talent alone. That's the part of the draft where you see guys like Zach Lavine, Jeremy Lamb, Kelly Oubre and Giannis Antetokounmpo get taken, despite any doubts. Richardson has to be right there with Luwawu.

This sounds spot on. The physical profile and potential is too big.

Ugh. I don't know what I want exactly. Moving down and acquiring another 2017 1st is probably best.
