Rumor: Favors and Hayward for D'angello Russell and the #2 pick?

Would you trade Hayward and Favors for Russell and Ingram/Simmons?

It is.
I've been saying it since the '14 draft thread. So obvi true.

I don't doubt it, just haven't followed it enough to say for myself. So if the class is looking that good, in your opinion would Russell & Ingram not be worth trading Hayward & Favors for when taking into account the fact that our 2017 draft pick would likely turn from a likely #15-20 pick to a potential top 10 pick? Not to mention the additional years of control that it would give us over Russell/Ingram.

Don't know.
I'm kinda not smart and stuff.

Why does Exum get penciled in as the star before Russell? Thye both played around the same nba games right? Oh and to use one I got from Jazzfanz and Russell is younger...

How exactly do we know they can't take us to the playoffs? You realize when Favors and Gobert both played they're record was easily a playoff record? And that despite having crippling injuries they nearly made the playoffs anyway?

One of the stupidest posts I've seen on here.

Ha. Keep drinking that kool aid. The millers thank you for it.

Really Hayward value is as much as K Loves?

Homer alert is going off crazy on this one.
One is multiple time all star and the other isn't
One has Olympic medals and one doesn't

Talk about another homerism at its finest moments here folks!

Because it has yet to happen. Blazers lost what 4 starters from last year, Everyone predicted they be a lottery team and what did they do? Go out and win. What separated winners from losers is the excuses plain and simple. Do you have an excuse ready for next year if they fail to make the playoffs again?
This is gold written by me and think everyone needs to win it. Crap I am a Cardinals fan in baseball and we was injured all year and what did we do? Go out with best record in baseball. Made playoffs again./ See teams like Pittsburgh Steelers. They get injured and still are considers most every year.. They don't make excuses either. Just go out and win baby

No.
I just hate Billary more.

I like you so much I have warn you about the so many reptilian shapeshifter I find on the board here. No lease be careful ok? Please don't say anyone I found out and I can send you one more PM tomorrow to help you know who reptilian are here ok? I send tomorrow.

Idk if I could stomach seeing Hayward and Favors in Laker uniforms.

Having said that, I'd do this deal if Simmons were available at #2.

Imagine this starting lineup moving forward:

Exum
Russell
Hood
Simmons
Gobert

I don't like Russell. I don't believe in his psychological makeup. I don't believe in him as a human being.

That being said, I'd do the trade if Simmons is available. And then I'd trade Russell to the highest bidder.

Top six Jazz players missed 180 games. So your theory is that if the Blazers top 6 had missed 180 games they would still have made the playoffs, just by having a positive attitude?

For me, I say have it one more go with Hayward, Favors, Gobert, Exum, Burks, Hood, Lyles lineup along with additional help from free agency without any setback injuries and fully healthy season. If that doesn't work and not make the playoffs again, I'm game in trading Hayward, Favors or whoever just as long we get good assets back in return.

I'm ok with this as long as the Jazz do something in free agency. We need a starting level wing (no, Hood isn't good enough), we need a backup big and I wouldn't hate a starting PG.

Let's ease Exum into this. Let's guarantee the playoffs (and a starting level PG and wing would all but do that).

If we aren't going to spend money anyways, then we are just Al Jeffersoning the season (i.e., screwing fans by staying close to playoff contention but not making it).

Screw the Millers. If they don't spend in free agency, I'd be ok with them selling the team because they will have shown they aren't interested in winning.

No one here BUT ME gave the Blazers any chance of earning a playoff spot with the roster they had and they went out and got it done. So what will the excuse be next year if Jazz don't make playoffs and was injury free most of the year?

Pencil in these teams from the get go in the West
GSW
OKC- Even without Durant they are a playoff team with Russ
Spurs
Clippers
Grizzlies- Hey they had a lot of people injured this year and still made it
Portland

That leaves 2 spots open with these teams fighting for the last 2
Dallas
Houston
Utah
Denver- Rising team
Pelicans- Davis is fully capable of having a monster season and leading them into playoffs
Timberwolves- They got the star pieces

So that's 6 teams fighting for 2 spots. Can you make a case even whith a healthy roster that the Jazz are 2 of the 6 out of this group? To me in order id put Dallas, Houston, Timberwolves,Denver, Utah, Pelicans

If the Jazz miss the playoffs again, Hayward will decline his option and leave.

Not that it matters, but if the Jazz could get #2 + Russell for Hayward and Favors, I'd do it.

Tell me how you answer the following questions:

1.) Is a superstar (top 10 player) needed to win a championship?
2.) Does anyone on the Jazz have top 10 player potential?
3.) Will Durant, Lebron, Kawhi,Curry, George, ever walk through the door?

Kawhi and George are not superstars on the level of Curry or LeBron, or even Durant (although in the latter's case, one begins to wonder whether he really IS that guy).

With regards to the OP, I don't mind taking risks, but I'm tired of the rebuild. Young teams don't win during the regular season, let alone the playoffs. Do this deal, and we're probably 3 more years of non-playoffs. If we do this, Ingram really better be the real deal (Russell is not)to justify the additional 3 or so years of winning 30 games a year.

Well, we'd have a ton of cap space that's for sure.

If I trusted the FO I would do it. But something tells me they'd make this trade and then pick up a couple of mediocre pieces as cap filler and then take in salary at the trade deadline to get up to the minimum.
