Following 2016 potential draftees

Ellenson is 7ft tall. He can play the center. Gobert could probably use less playing time. However, if some furkan guy is available at 12 tough call.

He is essentially the exact same size as Lyles. Slightly bigger wingspan, exact same standing reach, same weight.

If Ellenson can really shoot the ball, he's the ideal spread-floor 5, but his shooting percentages aren't there yet. His FT% at 75% looks a bit hopeful.

He and Lyles will both be good shooters. Like, 35% from 3 and effective close in.

So what are you trying to say. A seven foot tall player can not play center in today's NBA?

I don't think Ellenson is a center in the NBA, or at least not a good one. I think he will be much better as a PF alongside a more athletic defensive minded center.

Ellenson's skill set looks reminiscent of Enes Kanter. He's not as bruising, but the basic scoring and rebounding appear to be there more or less. His 1.8 blocks per 40 are a bit soft. Standing reach is about the same as Kanter's at 9'0". So the obvious question becomes--can he guard the pick-and-roll or will he get blown by every time like Kanter?

He's not particularly long or athletic. Might play it as well as Okur could. That only worked because Okur had an elite 3 point shot though.

More accurate would be to say that Ellenson is an inch longer all around except standing reach (which is identical). He has the size for center. idk about toughness/mentality for it.

Yes. If Jazz picked him up, I'd guess that Quin would try to match Lyles/Gobert and Favors/Ellenson (or Gobert/Ellenson and Favors/Lyles) as much as possible.

Skal reminds me of Jake Heaps. Put him in an empty gym and he shines. Put him out there when the lights go on where guys are trying to kick your ***, and he goes dim.

The strange thing about it is that his standing reach (as recorded by DX) seems to have stagnated over the years, despite his actual height increasing. Could just be inaccurate measurements, I suppose.

Croc's lottery mock

6ers - ingram - everyone is picking simmons but i think ingrams is a better pick and his shooting will open the floor for their bigs.

Fakers - simmons - he is bpa and has the potential for stardom. He might be the piece they need to build around.

Boston - chriss - some will call this a reach but he is athletic and has a good jumper. He fits with what the celtics are building.

Suns - bender - the suns would be excited with this pick as bender would be a nice compliment to len.

Minny - murray - his shooting is what they like and the potential to play some point. Great compliment to wiggins and kat.

NO - skal - his shooting will help create space for brow. I was tempted to take heild but anderson will probably be gone in the offseason. Besides can you imagine the defensive potential.

Nugz - brown - has the most potential and since they have no major needs they swing for the fences.

Kings - dunn - kings are dancing getting just what they need. A solid pg considering whats his bucket can opt out this summer.

Toronto - heild - they need shooting and you have to go bpa. Ellenson makes some since here too.

Bucks - poeltl - he fits very with the team. Monroe was a waste. Poeltl will bring some nice low post scoring.

Magic - ellenson - perfect compliment to vujivic. He will be able to spread the floor.

Jazz - korkmaz - jazz need shooting and at this point he is the best. There are a lot of directions the jazz can go here.

Nice work. This makes a lot of sense, though I tend to think NOLA is a little too early for Skal. Skal projects as a PF like AD. Will be interesting to see if Baldwin or anyone else can sneak in the top 10 and push someone down.

Baldwin to the bucks makes a ton of sense too.

I'd be tempted to take Maker ahead of Ellenson with the expectation that Maker is a better defender, is a near equal shooter from important spots, and has the length to play center.
