Following 2016 potential draftees

I listened to it last night. Biggest takeaway was he said 9-30 is pretty much the same tier.

Also, Ford fortified Locke's love for Dejounte Murray. Told him he was better than Dunn at the same age. I think the pimping won't end until the draft.

He hasn't been playing. If we moved back and picked up another pick and got him at 15 or 16 that'd be cool.

Right. He missed most of the Serbian playoffs. Mega Leks season is over so he could be over here now ready to workout, but have not heard anything. Definitely could mean he has a lingering injury. Roster for Eurocamp should be out in the next day or two. See if he is on it. However, most top prospects for this years draft just come to the US and work out.

Exum didn't play for a year and a half and we took him at #5. It's more than that.

He wasn't playing at all... Luwawu was and then stopped... Might be significant injury... Might just be that they haven't seen him do anything recently when he started trending in a good direction.

Maybe all the experts are full of poop.

Regarding Jamal Murray... who would be willing to trade Hood plus the 12 to get him? It might seem like an overpay to some folks here, but I just don't see Burks, Burke, or our 2017 picks moving us up into his range.

I think that might be what it takes and could see NO, Sacramento, Boston, and maybe Denver being interested.

If we moved Hood it may make us a more attractive candidate to get one of the more notable FA wings, since there is no incumbent starter to move to the bench. I know Locke has been pushing the idea of depth from the top down... meaning acquire a better player than Hood and making him a super sub, but I'm sure he'd not be real happy about that maneuver.

I'm not even sure I would do it, but it is something I haven't seen discussed and could be a viable option.

So Chad Ford thinks if Furkman Korkmaz had showcased his talents in the U.S. he'd be thought of top 10 and is considered the 2nd best international prospect behind Bender.
Also he thinks DeJaunte Murray is way better than Kris Dunn was at the same age and maybe the best PG prospect. He's more a PG/SG prospect. Either would be a great addition to the Jazz guard rotation.

I really like Korkmaz. Considering Evan Fournier is in line for a max contract, I don't see the knock on trying Korkmaz.

Absolutely not. Hood is coveted around the league and has star potential. He needs to be more consistent and as much as I like Murray, he has a long way to go to be better than Hood. Hood is one of the last Jazzman I would trade.

I don't think we should even consider trading Hood, Exum, Gobert or Lyles. All 4 guys represent a skill set needed by every contending team. Hayward also has the skills, but I'm very worried that this might be his last year in Utah. He's practically a free agent after this year and I really don't think we should sign him to a max deal next summer. He doesn't do anything elite enough to warrant that type of contract. I would trade Hayward for the right prospect. Favors too if we could get into the top 2 somehow.

So with that being said, I think we need to draft the best wing available. Hield, Korkmaz, Jamal Murray, Luwawu, and Valentine if we stay at #12. One or more of those guys will be there when we pick. If we absolutely love one of them, then we have the assets to move up a few spots to secure them. We have so many 2nd rounders, the GS 1st in 2017, Burke and other minor assets.

Murray will kill the league.

Looking at what he does using off-ball screens... the guys that do that are huge offensive assets and stretch defenses opening up all sorts of stuff for other guys. Steph, Klay, JJ, Kyle are names that come to mind. Add in that he can create off that action and I think you might be right.

He's a gym rat, smart kid, and willing defender (although not good... yet). I see so much to like there.

So new DX mock that came out today has us taking Wade Baldwin. Somewhere Hantlers is creaming himself.

I like him... Can't say I'd cream but I'd prolly tingle a little down there.

Korkmaz still playing in Turkish finals. Could easily go to at least the 11th so not sure if he will be able to come to US for workouts. He could possibly show up for the last day of Eurocamp though.

If Jazz want Murray they might be able to get him via Boston's 3rd pick IF they give the Celts Hayward.

The drop off from Hayward to Hood is more than made up by the addition of Murray.
