New Burks Injury

Misleading thread title.

Marc Spears: Jazz say Alec Burks had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to clean out debris from his left knee and ankle. He is expected to be ready for camp.

OP, anything wrong with quoting part of the article in your post so we don't have to click on the link?

I thought we were supposed to post links. Anyway doctors generally don't do a scope for "prevention" on a normal joint. The scope itself provides a severe trauma to the joint that takes awhile to heal. I know Kobe had a lot of these done during his career and we will see how well he is walking at 50.

Same leg as got broke here?

I don't know how the Jazz can enter another season depending on both Rodney and Alec. They are each too injury prone.

This may be insensitive but I do not care how Burks walks at 50. I care about his health in 09/2016. Link is fine but quotes would be appreciated by some. No worries there.

Also the reports themselves never mention an injury and specifically say this is a "minor" procedure. To me that means it is not a severe trauma.

Hood played 79 games last year. I am not overly worried about him being injury prone. Burks might be a legit concern. Either way another wing is needed.

Yes, you should always post links so we can see the source. But you can post some or all of the article as well. (If it's a "for pay" article, like ESPN insider, then only post up to one paragraph of the article, otherwise all of the article is fine.)

Is this guy the son of Curtis Borchardt?

Nah son, unlike CB* Alec actually has a place on an NBA court. WTS, I've known and said for years now that this guy will be injury prone and eventually Brandon Roy himself out of the league.

*CB was quite possibly the worst draft pick in Jazz history. I can't think of another even close.

Trey Burke. In both instances the Jazz had to trade up to draft them.

I think Hood is a little...soft. Here are a couple of examples of games he played in, but had to be taken out. IIRC, there were others.

I don't want this to sound critical of Rodney, I really enjoy the Kid adn hope he is a Jazzman for a long time, but the jazz need to plan a roster that accounts for Hood's little injuries.

And with Alec's penchant for flying down the lane and throwing himself in the air, the Jazz are in a tough spot when Rodney bangs knees, or steps on a foot, or gets roughed up a bit.

Soft is the wrong assessment. If you have an ankle or foot sprain it is not a matter of toughness whether you should play on it.

He had a rough rookie year... I hope it is behind him but I'm certainly still concerned. Hope it was just bad luck.

This sucks btw... Knee surgery is always bad, but hopefully it is just to clean up whatever the lingering affects he had from the Paul pierce hit. Haven't looked it up... It's the same leg right?

Hayward had a similar surgery last off season, it was on his foot though.
