naw we'll probably get rolled. But it's hard to say. Comes down to how disciplined the team remains under pressure.


They're a defensive team that tries to capitalize on set-pieces and counter-attacks-- which is probably the best way to play as a team short on talent. They came 2nd in group stages and went toe-to-toe with Portugal every time they played together.

With that said, they're in a group with Switzerland and France so i'm guessing they get 3rd. It's kinda funny because nearly half of Switzerland's starters are of Albanian descent.

If every Albanian player playing on foreign teams jumped over to team Albania they would actually field a pretty darn good team. It's just that their soccer program has been **** for decades and only recently has it ascertained any relevance

Yup and the same action could bring Mesut Özil from Real Madrid to Turkish NT.
 
No comments so far? Albania lost in debut vs Swiss but they played very decent game. Goal is partially on the keeper, he just should have stayed home on that corner. Can they still qualify? Doubt it but it is possible.
Sad that Slovakia lost to Wales, they kind of dominated possession and had Wales on their backs in second half yet allowed unlucky goal at the end.
Russia tied England on last minute equalizer. Meh game in general, was not impressed with either squad.
 
Germany showed why they are still the favorites. So effective, so many chances. Crazy machine. But Poland looked like they have a nice team as well, will be an epic match between those neighbouring countries.

Game was a heartbreaker. Nearly equalized twice despite playing with ten men. If they tie France they have a shot. If they lose, it's over.
 
Since Scotland didn't make it, and the Netherlands choked on a blade of grass, I actually will be cheering for Wales. Cuz the underdog.

Great win for Wales against Slovakia, btw.

I'd take Wales above Slovakia all the time man. Haven't they like got Gigs or smth?
 
Wales UEFA Ranking = 36
Slovakia Ranking = 26

And as far as the rest of the group...

England is Ranked #3
Russia is Ranked #4

So ya... Underdog, baby.

EDIT: My bad, that was from the UEFA Club Associates Rankings.

So here's the FIFA Rankings in that Group:

England - 11
Slovakia - 24
Wales - 26
Russia - 29

So ya, it was still an upset :)
 
Yeah Wales win was for sure nice upset. Slovakia dominated second half and should have scored more and put this game out of reach. I will certainly cheer for Wales vs England and vs Russia as well:). Would be nice if Slovakia would qualify as well.
 
So happy Iceland took point from Portugal:).. Portugal players body language, arrogance and constant flopping and complaining to refs rubs me wrong way... Hungary looked very good vs Austria. Hope they beat Portugal and send them home.
