one of the lamer things about living in Canada is missing out on all of that talent. Edmonton's starting to reel in a couple of the larger acts (thanks to the new stadium deal) but the smaller acts never make it up here.

Which are better than the bigs.

they're different shows. Bigger acts are more theatrical, smaller ones are more intimate. It's still nice attending the big ones, but a lot of my favourite artists aren't that big.

What would piss me off the most is us drafting Thon Maker, only to trade him to another team for a future pick and cash. lol And then watch helplessly as he keeps improving and improving until he finally starts tearing it up just like Rudy did to the Denver Nuggets.

Did you get that, Dr. Jones?

uh-oh, Jazz not having a draft party?

I'm hearing that there will not be a draft party this year because of a Vivint Arena scheduling conflict.
Lame. I always attend

SLC has an awesome rave scene, but it's not good for clubbing.

Back in my heyday the clubbing was fantastic.

I used to go a different club every night... knew all the best nights at each club.
Portocall on Friday's, green street on thursday (or liquid joes for the metal Gods), bliss on Wednesday, demetries, canyon inn on Tuesdays, the hotel on Saturday, and hit one of the strip clubs on Monday (trails, southern exposure, etc).

Sandy station/allure was usually a good time.

Head over to lumpys on sunday for some football.

but ya, nowadays it's more about bars rather than clubs for me.

The puck, the green pig, whiskey street, bout time, beer hive, bar-x, Murphy's, jackalope lounge, the red door.

1280 downplayed it on the radio, they said it was nothing more than a scheduling snafu, the draft happened earlier than expected and the convention was scheduled months in advance.

Personally I wonder if they wanted to nix it, they moved draft hq to zions bank center a few years ago. There won't be a draft party next year because of the arena remodel. Two years off and it might not come back.

The radio show on the drive home tonight was wild. Boler and Scotty were throwing out everything...trade Hayward, trade Rudy, trade favors, trade the pick, obtain the third pick....

Then Locke came on, and his interview will be available on line, he talked about draft picks and trade scenarios, and all kinds of possibilities.
One thing seemed clear, the Jazz management has not leaked their plans to their media department.

When evaluating draft prospects, I probably overrate production, for good or bad. It's why I love guys like Zizic, Sabonis, Brice Johnson, Hield, etc.

That being said, while I may be hesitant to admit it, Cy has converted me to Damian Jones - just too productive, too big and too athletic. He's still not at the top, but I would wake up the morning after the draft and be happy with that pick.

Just wish he were a bit better on the boards and the FT% and lack of improvement in that area concerns me a bit, though his shooting stroke is solid.
