George Hill coming to Utah

Enlighten me. How is Hill better? Or is that the best response there is?

You have to look at what I bolded. I was not commenting on the Hill v. Teague.

I was talking about your Hood/Hayward v. Teague argument. While you are factual in your statement you also leave you very relevant facts that add context. Jazz suffered huge injuries to 4 of their top 6 players. Not ingles or Burke mind you but Exum, Gobert, Burks and Favors.

ignoring that for the sake of making your argument look good only damages it.

Hey if you are still on the "max Harrison Barnes" train why did you delete all of your posts in the earlier thread?
I'll take the #3 and #16 for Hayward, Max Harrison Barnes, run the offense thru Hood. And I wouldn't do this deal for 12.. There'd still be $$ to sign Conley or another max player.

The end result of next season is the same ---- the Jazz lose.. except the team is much younger 3 new rookies to develop and they'll have a btter chance to land a top pick in a better draft.. and they wont be on the hook to pay Hayward 30,000,000..

I have patience though.. To me this move signals the Jazz are choosing to take baby steps.. When I gamble, I like to go big (like the D-Will to NJ trade)

This trade is Tyson Chandler to the Knicks status IMO.

Once you respond to this I'll give ya an answer

Lets say they signed Rondo with those moves.

Rondo - Exum - Jamal Murray(#3) - Mack
Hood - Burks - Jamal Murray(#3)
Barnes - Burks/Hood -Taurean Prince (#16) - Ingles
Favors - Lyles - FA
Gobert - Poeltl(#12) - Withey

.. That to me is viable as ****.

If the chemistry isn't right thats not a bad scenario (other than for ticket sales) theyll end up inone of the strongest lottery's in recent memory, and there's plenty of cap flexibility still..

I love the player we got and I LOVE the fit! What gives me pause is the contract status. And we don't really know what the FO is thinking about it. Here's how I'd summarize my feelings about it depending on what FO is thinking:
-If they are thinking of him as a 1 year rental I don't like it at all.
-if they are thinking of resigning him after next season/giving him good enough contract to stay/overpaying long-term - I hate it because we have better players to keep and that contract might be hindrance to it.
-If they have a plan to restructure and extend the contract so they'd give him more money now for less in the future, I think this is a solid deal. High level back up PG for ~10M would be pretty good deal starting next year.

Yeah and we didn't trade those picks away for a reason.

Someone traded the Gobert pick away iirc

Awesome trade for Utah! Utah has plenty of talent already that just needs maturation without drafting another maybe good enough to be starter in 3-4 years at #12, stop whining you brood of idiots. Hill is very smart, a great three point shooter, and plays very strong defense. It does necessitate moving of Burke and Mack, which I'm sure DL will do. Also, there can't possibly be one person that still thinks we need to max Harrison Barnes, who was never worth that money, but especially after his disappearing act on the big stage.

The gamblers are all butt hurt they don't get to play scratch-to-win in the draft this year.

Here guys, scratch your monitor to see what you get.

Nice breakdown. Wondering what the contract status is like as well. We at least can enjoy good PG play and I do think that gets this squad to the 50-win mark

Yes, but we would still have to pay them.
Thanks for the answer. I had no idea.

They are cheap so I could see it happening.

I hate Rondo's shooting and this team needs it.

Sir,

Is the maxing Barnes part of your original post a cogent position or just a "let me throw this in here to see if they're paying attention" type thing? Please advise.

I don't really like the trade at first glance.... But I do like hill and we will be better next year now and win many games.
Looking forward to next season!

Hill is a stud and a perfect fit next to Hood/Hayward and probably Exum in a lot of lineups.
