Nicolas Cage and wife Alice Kim have decided to part ways.

The actor's rep confirmed to E! News that the couple, who have been married for 11 years, separated back in January. The pair have one 10-year-old son together, Kal-el Coppola Cage.

Cage and Kim's whirlwind romance was one for the books. The movie star met Kim when she was a waitress at Los Angeles restaurant Kabuki back in February 2004, and ended up putting a ring on her finger two months later! The couple tied the knot at a ranch in northern California in July of that year.

A few years back, Cage explained that his seemingly sporadic decision to wed Kim, who is 20 years his junior, was so she could travel with him to South Africa while he shot the 2005 film Lord of War.

"You can connect the dots. And we did it because we loved each other," he told The Guardian.

"I made a very clear decision to marry out of my own zip code," he said. "I mean, way out of my own zip code. I married into another culture, and it's interesting because in Korea they call me the Son-in-Law."

This was Cage's third marriage. The 52-year-old was previously married to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995-2001, and then briefly wed Lisa Marie Prestley for roughly four months in 2002, however their divorce wasn't finalized until 2004. Cage also has a 25-year-old son, Weston, from a former relationship with model Christina Fulton.

I didn't realize Cage was still alive and had no idea he was married.
 
Cage is a hack. Faceoff was basically a B movie.
 
I don't really care.
Only thing I watch on TV is sports.

No TV programs, no movies, nothing... can't sit still that long.
 
probably the only movie starring Nickkk Cage I'll ever see again is Blue Velvet.

Also, why is it sad news when two people who want to go their separate ways do in fact go their separate ways?

I guess it's because nobody ever wanted to get into a marriage wanting it to end in divorce?

I can list several examples of people who feel that a terminated relationship was still extremely valuable and important to their lives.

I just watched Blue Velvet a few months ago. Cage was not in Blue Velvet. Only Lynch movie I can think of with Cage was Wild at Heart.
 
My uncle says 100% of all divorce is caused by marriage. Cages' best movie was Ghost Rider lol
