Bold Trade Idea

Whether Hayward supposedly wants better talent around him or not, we are in win now mode. We have a very talented roster which is still a little too green or raw to be feared by the true contenders. I feel like we lack another All Star quality player who has the utmost respect from his peers. We need a fighter. I honestly think the following trade puts us in the conversation:

Favors, Burke, the 2017 GS 1st rounder and 2 2017 2nd rounders
For
Millsap and Korver

Why for Atlanta: If they cannot resign Horford, they will rebuild. Keeping Millsap and Korver is a luxury they don't need. Favors is younger than Millsap and played his college ball in the Atlanta area. Korver is great for Atl, but he's an expiring contract on a rebuilder and needs players around him to excel. Burke is worth one year for Atlanta since they just dumped Teague. They have nothing to lose by giving him a shot as PG depth.

Why for Utah: Millsap is a warrior. The guy can lierally do it all. He's 2nd team All Defense, but he can also shoot the 3, post up and pass as well as any big in the league. Favors good, but Millsap is better. Also, many have questions about Favors and Gobert fitting together long term whereas Millsap and Gobert are a perfect match. You couldn't ask for a better PF to pair with Gobert. Korver is a specialist and addresses the major shooting weakness we have. The veteran leadership Millsap and Korver provide is an intangible this club sorely needs. Additionally, Millsap is a perfect mentor for Lyles and even Bolomboy. Korver for Good and Burks. Their contacts get us to the salary floor. We are contenders after this trade. I really believe that.

Lineups:
PG Exum, Hill, Mack, Neto
SG Hood, Burks, Hill
SF Hayward, Korver, Ingles
PF Millsap, Lyles, Bolomboy
C Gobert, Free Agent, Withey

Jazz Death Lineup:
PG Exum
SG Hood
SF Korver
PF Hayward
C Millsap

No, this trade would not put us in contention. We won't be in contention until we have a go-to scorer who can take over games offensively. We know that player isn't Hayward or Favors, but we also know it's not Millsap or Korver.

I see. Bunch of smartasses. You guys keep sucking up to Favors hoping he becomes something more than hype. I've seen high school bench players have more passion than he plays with.

Millsap is an elite player which Favors never has been and probably won't ever be. Favors is elite at nothing. Just keep getting excited over his "athleticism" and "potential". Those things always come through in big games...

I would rather trade favors for cousins.

This sentence says it all about the ridiculous Utah fan Favors hype. Cousins is at a different level. He's a franchise starter. We are still waiting on Favors to do anything.

Millsap and Korver will start declining very soon. Korver already is. It's an extremely short sited trade.

I think passion is the applicable word. Favors has shown very little passion even on his best nights. There is never a fire under his ***. How great would he be if he had Haywards passion?

I wish we could relegate all of these type of posts into one "Dumbass Trade Ideas" thread.

Millsap is 31. You're giving up a key player for a couple of productive seasons from Millsap, at best. And Korver is 35...

It's like you're trying to ruin the team.

It's a win now trade. Thats the point. We try to win now because Millsap is better than Favors and Korver is miles better than Burke and even Ingles. We would be a better team.

We just traded #12 for a PG who is 30 and everybody is doing backflips. We trade a pick in the 27-30 range for one of the best shooters in the league and people get offended?

Do you guys realize free agents (and only average ones) come here for one of two things - tons of money or tons of playing time. We shouldn't provide #1 and we can't give anyone #2.

The 12th pick is a gamble that may or may not payoff in a few years. It's not that much to give for a solid vet at our weakest position. Giving up a very good player for a 31 year old who might not even be better right now is madness.

We are doing backflips because the #12 pick was very meh this year. Favors is arguably are best asset.

He is a good asset. He's a good player. He's not great but his good. He's not Millsap and most importantly, he is not a good fit next to Gobert. He's just not. There is no way to argue it. Neither guy spreads the floor. Neither guy has a dominant post game.

We are contenders this year if we switched Favors with Millsap.
