What's new

Dennis Lindsey: We will be VERY active in free agency

Definitely. I'm not saying anything about how much I like him or think he's worth, just putting the numbers in perspective since people don't seem to understand the conversion.

Got it... If he is just meh I do think we could probably still move him depending on the years.

I don't disagree but people making these decisions are suppose to be smarter than this. Just because you have money doesn't mean you have to spend it. Just for the record, not a fan of Solomon Hill. If this is the FAs we are going after then I rather pass and just go with the young guys another year.

The Jazz already have a full roster so just play Ingles in spot minutes the rest of the SGs/SFs can fill in Hill and Exum can play the 2 so Hood, Hayward and Burks can play the SF. Heck let Quincy Ford play 6 minutes at SF.

Collectively they are smart but it only takes one dude trying to save his job falling in love with someone to get crazy money out there.

If Hill and Favors won't be extended we may be forced into something like this just to hit the floor. If it's one year then I don't care much... next year we have to start making decisions on guys... the following year gets real tricky.

The Jazz sure as hell better not sign Solomon Hill and we sure as hell better not pay him more then George Hill.

If we sign hill to a 1+1 TO worth 20-30 Mill, I'd be pretty glad. Gets us to the salary floor and provides a solid backup to Hayward and Favors/Lyles. Anything longer than a single year with a team option or just a single year, I'd be extremely unhappy with.

I'd prefer Handlogten's Heros idea much over this though.

Hill would be an upgrade to Johnson. Ingles>>>>Hill. Not even close for me.

I disagree. Hill beats Ingles in rebounding, defense, and he can play inside or outside. He'd be a solid addition. Similar to RoCo who I'm in love with.

Are you cool, Rgiss?

There's some discussion about allowing you into the penthouse (a private forum here), but I want to know more.
Do you wear skinny jeans?

I bet he gets a 3-4 year offer... my guess is his price exceeds what DL would pay.

I'm the mormon-est.

See what I did there? I added a hyphen.

Test 2 - fail

All tied up and luckily for you this is an NBA forum and not NCAA or you'd just been bounced.

With being good in sight and a bunch of ridiculous contracts coming up, I'd be very wary committing significant money and years to any non-vital players. Solomon Hill at >$10 million a year for multiple years sounds insane to me, even with the salary hike.

Solomon Hill would not be my first choice but I think he is a good player to take a chance on. If we cannot get a better player I would go for him as long as it is only a two or one year deal. If we could sign him for a 2 year deal and a team option for the 3rd then we can overpay. We need to fill the salary regardless, why not take a chance he can do what he did in the playoffs more consistently.

Yeah unfortunately I expect the same. He wants his money guaranteed, and he'll get it. But we can't be giving that much to him when we need that money for our core later.
