2011 draft.....

I really don't get the Barnes love. If there is a chucker, Harrison Barnes be thine name. Everyone is talking about him "finally getting it" toward the end of the season. Sure he is scoring more, but thats what happens when you take more shots. 20 shots to get 17pts? 14 shots for 10pts? 17 shots for 16pts? 23 shots for 21pts?

Shot well in the FSU game and today but was 40% from the field and 33% from 3 against Duke. I want to like him but getting his points on volume shooting and looking very average athletically doesn't make me yearn for the Jazz to use 6th pick for him.

If Irving, DWill and whoever the other 2 or so guys that inevitably "wow" GM's every draft are off the board, I'd rather package and trade the pick. Having Favors, Hayward, Lottery Pick 1 and Lottery Pick 2 on the team, let alone probably keeping Evan's and adding a rookie in 2012 with the GS pick doesn't make any sense. Too many young guys.

To me Irving and DWill are worth making moves for if you can.

Agreed.

I said the following before too. Most of the teams ahead of us do not seem to have a strong need for PG imo so I think we could have the assets (Nets pick, our pick, GS pick, Miles?, Okur?, Millsap?, etc.) to package and trade up to go after Irving or Williams. If we don't or can't, I think we need to try to trade out for a 1st rounder next year from some team who's typically awful.

Devin Harris - Earl Watson
Gordon Hayward - Miles - Harrison Barnes
Derrick Williams - AK -
Derrick Favors - Millsap - Evans
Al Jefferson - Okur - Tomic (one day!)

I have to say, that potential line up really excites me. A starting line up where everyone was picked 15 or lower, an extreme change over the usual 2nd rounders.

How dare you confuse FSU and Miami!

Harrison Barnes average athlete? I havent seen him play that much, but pretty much everyone raves about how athletic the guy is.

Speaking of Derrick Williams...

The move at the 24 second mark is sweet. My general thoughts outside of his insanely strong fg/3 point percentages? Lots of dunks!!! In the NBA, I think that ability to play above the rim and take it to the rim is crucial. He can either finish or draw whistles which is huge. I would actually take him above Irving at this point because he seems like he can do everything on the offensive end and plays on the wing and has a game that translates to more NBA rings as compared to quick point guards like Irving. Add in the fact that we already have a capable point and that puts it over the top for me. He sort of reminds me of Beasley but with better shooting and character. So the big question is, can he defend NBA 3's?

I'm sold. Hopefully we get a good pick and he can guard the 3.

Hearing Irving might be playing in the NCAA tournament. Unlikely that he plays in the ACC tournament though. Should be interesting to see how he does coming off of injury and how much he improves Duke.

In regards to Barnes, man does he have a pretty shot. He is growing on me, I just don't like the offense that UNC uses, it really doesn't work for Barnes that well. He still just seems kinda slow to me, maybe it's cause he's taller, but he just seems slow.

I am not so high on DWill2 after watching this video. We need someone who can stretch defense with outside shooting and create off the dribble finishing with midrange jumper. He looks to me as quick PF rather than powerful SF. We already have guys that able to collapse defense now we need someone who can score of it.
NB: I haven't seen him at all except on a few video highlights so take my opinion as it is.

Jimmer has been given the green light and apparently Barnes too. His coach draws up final second shots for him anyway. I've got him on my avatar and sig b/c he's the big board pick. The difference between the two is Jimmer makes it happen. Barnes shoots dog **** terrible. And I'm no Jimmer as an NBA player fan either.

I'm not trying to be an argumentative prick, but Jazz need every spot filled at moment. They should take the best player available at the spot.

You really don't think D-Will is more athletic than Milly?

On a side note, what about Sullinger if he somehow fell? It would allow the Jazz to trade Millsap. Sullinger is a rebounding machine and very good low post scorer and can shoot really well for a big

I'll give you that he looks more athletic than Millsap against sub-par competition. He seems to move his body better on the ground and adjusting in the air, which seems to be the preferred so-called "athleticism" metric, but how will he stack up against the pros? I never saw Millsap @ Lou, so can't make a real comparison. All I know is these youngsters can look spectacular in the kiddie gym. Millsap would be "an athletic beast" in college these days.

Assuming the Jazz pick is 11-14, I want Jimmer. We need someone who can actually shoot. No one else is playing defense on this team anyways so it's not like that will be much of a difference. I think Jimmer's role in the NBA will be a scoring 6th man, similar to Jason Terry. We certainly could use that, god knows CJ Miles doesn't count.
