Salary cap could also go down in a few years. (In fact have seen posts from very knowledgeable posters saying that the cap is expected to actually go down again in a few years)
Wow, that would create chaos. Just imagine a team with 2 players earning 30% each of the cap, and then the cap goes down. How could you possibly fill a roster if two players were using up something like 70% of your cap?

I don't think the cap will decrease in a few years, if ever. If it does, it will be revenue issues and a survival thing. Both sides of the league spent considerable time being reasonably certain this is a sustainable move. If the cap goes down, it will be because they admit they miscalculated/forecasted.

Actually, I think I misunderstood the poster.
I think he was talking about contraction (getting rid of a few teams) and I thought he was talking about the cap.

Carry on, nothing to see here.

Need to bring the total number down to 26.

get rid of;

Lakers
Nuggets
Portland
and one more of your choice.

Jazz are thrilled with Hood. Burks would be on his way out before Hood.

You have your ideas and I have my sources. They love Hood. If they could flip Hood and Favors for an all star wing, they'd be gone. They know that Hood is a nice starter and that's it.

I concur with the original post. Dennis has killed it. The jazz got what he promised... veteran help, competition at different spots on the court, added flexibility. He isn't done yet either. We still have cap space and are looking for a stretch 4. I think Lyles is that guy, and that a backup 5 is more important.

Bolomboy may make that spot, but he may be beat out by an established vet.

A on the off season. Getting a bonafide franchise player like Durant would have been one of the few things that would be able to make the off season better, but he obviously didn't pick up the phone.

And of course Utah would move Burks before Hood. The problem is, Burks is worthless right now.

Hayward and Gobert and Exum aren't going anywhere. If the Jazz make a move, they will try to package Favors and Hood for a star.

This is an incredibly myopic viewpoint. I don't mean to be mean when I say that, I just don't agree with your post.
