NBA Summer League Thred

Orlando Summer League doesn't really seem to have the star power this year.

Domantas Sabonis and Henry Ellenson are the main attractions.

Yeah, lmao. I hate Orlando Summer Leauge. It's not fun to watch because of the ****ty camera angles they get in that gym. I watched a little of Henry Ellenson and he looked good from the 3-4 minutes I watched him. Made some nice moves and looked fluid running the court.

The camera angle is horrible, high school status tbh.

Georges Niang gonna kill summer league. Gonna enjoy it while it lasts.

Who Wears Short Shorts Obekpa is apparently on a OSL roster. Missed the news that he had entered the draft. That really sucks. I imagine getting kicked out of St. John's for a drug problem and then transferring colleges to a place like Las Vegas where problems only compound....probably wasn't the smartest decision in hindsight. Too bad. He would've been fun to watch @ UNLV this year. The Jazz should pick him up for Vegas league.....in the name of entertainment value.

Jazz alum Kevin Murphy had a couple of solid games playing for an Orlando team (They have two). He is above 50% shooting and is averaging about 13 points per game.

No luwawoo or simmons for philly yesterday. lame.

also why isn't the point guard (dejounte murray) for the spurs playing?

Kyle anderson had another really good game. I have always liked him. Kind of reminds me of boris diaws game but younger and a bit more athletic. I know the spurs are deep but it seems like he would be able to get a few minutes somewhere during the regular season.

Kyle Anderson isnt anywhere close to as athletic as Diaw.

Prove it. Give me some combine numbers

Neither player has athletic testing numbers. Those dont really matter though. I can give you athletic testing numbers that says Trey Burke is a pretty good NBA athlete.

Diaw is (not as much anymore cuz of age, but more true when he was younger)incredibly quick, especially for his size, but even without being a heavy set player, he is still pretty quick.

Kyle Anderson is nicknamed "slow-mo" for a reason, the dude is one of the slowest moving players in the NBA (not counting big centers like Pleiss). I'm not sure he has a fast twitch muscle in his body.

I'd still take Boris Diaw in a full court sprint over Kyle Anderson.

Whatever. I think at Diaws age and weight that anderson is the more athletic of the two. Really just opinions though. My main point was that i like anderson and compare him to diaw as the type of player he is.

after this conversation i did a little search of anderson.
Anderson: Anderson enters Thursday's 2014 NBA Draft as the most unique player on the board. Is he the next Boris Diaw? A taller version of Andre Miller? A less athletic Lamar Odom? One prominent draft site even had the audacity to compare him to Magic Johnson for the majority of this past season. It's part of what makes Anderson so intriguing as a player.

Strengths
Good passer
Good rebounder
Improved perimeter shooter
Stat sheet stuffer
Knows the game
Versatile

Weaknesses:
Not a great athlete
Has to get stronger
What position can he defend

From david aldridge: UCLA's Kyle Anderson also intrigues, for vastly different reasons. Teams aren't sure what he is. The 6-foot-9 freshman played point guard for the Bruins, and some people immediately went overboard, hyping Magic Johnson comparisons. Anderson is in no way Magical; a more fair comparison would be Boris Diaw

Diaw: A long, versatile forward who has had his ups and downs production wise, but remains one of the NBA’s most unique role players. A positionless player who sees minutes offensively at the 3, 4 and even the 5 on occasion, but is capable of passing the ball better than many point guards. Not very quick or explosive.

Yeah I dont think you are wrong comparing the two, I just think Diaw is the more athletic of the two.

I agree about Diaw. Dude is very quick considering how fat he is. Which is my only concern in trading for him. I really want him to set a good example for the young kids and if he and Pops had a falling out over his weight and conditioning, I'm nervous about the vet's approach here.

Fair enough. I just look at his old fat *** and can't believe it. But maybe you are right.
