I think Ainge thought that he did it once with Garnett and Allen, that it would be easy to do again. He brought in Horford, who is his Pierce. Now there should be a Garnett and Allen that are just dying to come to Boston, right?

Well Horford is the first big name they've brought in via FA in like decades, cos remember Garnett and Allen came via trades...


So really, FAs have shunned them for ages and ages...

some guys i know who went to early high school with him describe him as a prime time douchebag

Right, a prime time douchebag who then becomes a sports star and goes on to get drafted first in the NBA has all the right motivations to abandon douchebaggery.

I could see a nice kid become a douchebag under those circumstances, Can't really see a douchebag changing their ways under those circumstances.
