Another slaying of police officers (in Baton Rouge)

Obviously I don't condone the actions of those in Dallas and now Baton Rouge, but isn't this what the 2nd amendment is supposed to be used for according to advocates of the NRA and 2nd amendment rights?

You have a group of people within the black race here in America, that feel like their government has become so oppressive to their rights and so irresponsive to their needs, that their only recourse is violence. Right now they're lashing out at police. Tomorrow? It could be politicians, teachers, and other public employees.

To me, this is becoming an interesting paradox where decades of anti-government rhetoric and pro guns propaganda worshipping the founding fathers and idolizing a time when local militias armed with guns took down a government. Right? This might be the natural consequence of a populace feeling abused and being armed to the teeth.

Aren't these guys acting out in the way that the NRA and the like have suggested we act out if the government becomes oppressive?

Again, I don't condone their actions nor am I advocating for gun control. I just am trying to see through these guys' eyes and understand why they're doing what they're doing. The irrational actions of these black individuals though radical and drastic, I think are an outward manifestation of the black community as a whole. They are feeling desperate and angry at a government that they view as increasingly oppressive. And are merely exercising their 2nd amendment rights in the way that the NRA and 2nd amendment activists have instructed.

Wow just wow. More victim blaming. More demanding the government takes care of them. Or how did you put it "irresponsible to there needs"? Yep whites are the problem an we need to take care of there needs. How prejudist an racist to say this stance!

Thrill is being dead on. This is exactly what the second amendment was added for. For people to be able to fight back against and overthrow an undemocratic, oppressive government. I mean, Obama isa communist and a Muslim. What more do you need?

two things:

i) my thoughts are with the families of these officers. I bet they were probably some of the nicest ones-- the good always die early
ii) how much longer until people start launching arguments about firearms not being safe in the hands of Black people?

Probably as long as it takes for the argument to be made that white people shouldnt have guns.

If trump becomes president? Don't be surprised if this happens.

In all reality, this type of rhetoric isn't that far behind. The GOP, in its desperation, is becoming more and more radical.

This guy is a big time tea party guy. He's a former congressman and is an am radio personality.

Actually, for half of our country's history, blacks legally couldn't own weapons.

Hell, they've only had the right to vote and use the same bathroom facilities for a little over 50 years.

Where the revolutionary government of 1791 made the second amendment to the US Constitution, which insisted on the right of the citizenry to bear arms as a safeguard against tyrannical government, successive legislators and campaigners who were freaked out by the prospect of former slaves getting hold of guns
