How much has Jimmer given up by not playing overseas?

A group of my friends were discussing this. All of us are not familiar with overseas salary's. Our assumption was somewhere between the 10-15 Mil range since his exit from the Kings?

Either way he has given up a lot of dough to continue the NBA dream. Got to give him props for chasing his dream over a huge paycheck.

Bad information.

To date Jimmer has earned $8.5M.
He would likely earn about $250-300k in Europe.

2011-2012 - $1,800,000
2012-2013 - $2,340,000
2013-2014 - $2,680,000
2014-2015 - $950,000
2015-2016 - $640,000

So I dare say he's given up nothing.

Appreciate the response. We were low on knowledge of euro-ball. But figured he was making significantly less by riding it out in the D-league.

Top European players get like 3-4 million a year I believe. I know that is what Tomic is paid.

I think Jaycee Carroll, who is a comparable player to Jimmer, gets like a million a year.

So Beantown and all of his "friends" are incapable of 10 minutes of internet research?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm absolutely shocked out of my socks about this.

I'm pretty sure there are only a handful of teams in Europe that pay those kind of contracts out though. I think everyone else gives out figures like Dr.Jones was posting.

Pretty much this.
It's like 5 teams that have a roster full of 7 digit contracts.
Then there's another 15 teams that have 1-5 players in that salary range.
Biggest contracts are usually handed out to euro/national players on long term contracts that have NBA talent like Fernandez, Tomic, Teodosic...

Another factor you have to consider is that numbers that you read from Europe are usually after taxes, since taxation is so different from place to place; agents negotiate net money.
Housing is included most of the time, idk if utilities are paid for as well.

In Germany salaries start in high 5 digits and end in low 7 digits for star players in Bamberg/Munich.

Jimmer has had Euro offers of 800k this summer....could probably squeeze it up to a million if his agent played those off other offers. But yeah, he still would have to prove he can play that style of ball successfully to get in that upper echelon of Euro ball salaries.....despite the fact that he is one, if not thee, most coveted foreign player that those teams could realistically bring over there right now.
