You people... a time and place for everything.

Enjoy a flatter, crispier, usually tastier (but not always)cookie that spreads out? Use Butter.

Enjoy a cookie that rises up better, and more tender? Use Crisco.

You should have used, "Want a cookie that doesn't remind you of a biscuit? use Crisco."

Wow... that is truly some THIN skin there breh. That all started because I offended you with a "You are."

But I'm sorry though. Srsly. My bad. Peace.

Thanks man, but it started quite a bit before that. And my life is ridiculously sick.

The administration claims it's a security issue. They claim framing it as a war against Islam helps ISIS recruit. It's also likely they see it as a domestic security issue as well, since they believe the more emphasis on Islam itself will lead to more things like vandalism against mosques, and attacks on Muslim Americans. That said, the forces aligned against us represent a group that views itself as the only true representative of Islam. Personally, I think as long as our own forces know who the enemy is, I'm not sure what's in a name is as all encompassing important as some see it. Even saying we are fighting a war against IS or ISIS would work for me. I know where they are concentrated, in several countries actually besides Iraq and Syria. That does not mean I am convinced we are fighting the war effectively, but, at the same time, ISIS has lost a lot of the territory they had at their greatest extent. I think everybody by now, unless they live under a rock or in a cave, realizes the enemies attacking us are doing so in service to a dystopian ideology centered around their interpretation of Islam. Who doesn't understand that? So I am not sure agonizing over what to call the enemy is worth all the teeth gnashing over it.

Better bakers than I have opted for Crisco in their cookies. I think I did once... but that's it.

Where this is far more relevant; pie crusts. I can tell you from experience that a bit of both is where it's at.

My opinion of Trump has followed an arc. At first I thought his candidacy was a bad joke. I didn't take anything about it seriously. Then, as I saw his tactics and heard his words I began to hate him. The only candidate I ever supported was Kasich, but I was never what you would call an enthusiastic supporter. I wished Romney had run.

Around the time it became obvious Trump was going to win the nomination I watched one of his rallys. His appeal in that format was obvious, although he was not appealing to me. The crowd adored him, and he gave an excellent performance. I made a post saying that I could see why people were reacting positively to his non-politically correct speech. I found it refreshing as well. I still appreciate that he says what he thinks (even though I don't agree with a lot of it). I don't recall saying that I thought he was patriotic but I probably did say that it was refreshing to see a candidate who believed that America was a great country (instead of one you need to go around the world apologizing for). Eventually I reached a point where I said I would vote for him simply because I thought Clinton is worse. Then he made the moronic quotes about the Hispanic judge and permanently lost my support.

For the first time ever I feel grateful that it doesn't really matter who I vote for because I'm in Utah. I will continue to follow the election, though because it's a crazy reality show that is going to have an impact on my life.

What is refreshing about the way Trump talks. The guy is in love with his voice and can dish out a lot of crap but acts like a child when someone comes back at him spouting nonsense most of the time. Have you forgotten that Trump and his followers have been whining for almost eight years about the awful state of this country. I guess you have to ignore history completely if you don't believe we have a lot to apologize for.

However, Trump and his followers never apologize because they are too arrogant to admit they are wrong. THe Guy has ZERO experience, wasn't that one of the major GOP criticism of president Obama before he was elected. I only had to listen to Trump once to know he cares more about getting the attention than helping the country. The people who love Trump are the angry white people who want to take back their country because they got their feelings hurt when their winning streak of 43 straight presidents was broke with the election of Obama. THey have been whining ever since. Now their world is coming down with the thought of a women being the commander-in-chief. It is both scary and comical to watch the meltdown of the GOP. Many in the GOP don't want him to be president but they are putting their GOP faces on and being good soldiers.

I guess Trump supporters can go to sleep knowing that if Trump is elected violence with stop and he will keep them safe and make all his supporters millionaires. How Trump will accomplish this doesn't matter to true Trump supporters they just want to feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that a rich white guy is running the country. For the life of me I can 't think of one or two things he has said that make any sense. He said he would tax rich people and then backed off of that. He said that he would get other countries to pay for the use of our military, but never mentions how he is going to do it. His foreign policy statements make top civil and military leader cringe. Our allies are already complaining about him. Trump talks tough but the reality is the world bows down to no human. I guess by now you all know I can't stand the guy nor do I see the appeal unless you are angry white person. I don't get how religious people back him. I don't get how minorities back him either unless they think he is going to magically make them millionaires. What they don't realize is Trump and Pence believe like most GOP in the belief that trickle down economics works when history/data shows other wise.

Please make it stop. Lol. The worst orator in American political history. Look at him puff himself up on stage, lol. Amazing performance. Please make him stop screaming, lol...

This is what you get when the Apprentice auditions for the Presidency. This is a laughing stock...

So I'm watching his speech and if I let my vision blur a little, the anatomy of his chin makes it appear that his tongue is hanging out.

Try it and see for yourself.

Interesting about the Orlando shooting transcript. I find the FBI explanation interesting, but not sure I agree. However, I suppose there is some validity to trying to defuse a situation and not create copycat scenarios, although I'm not sure that this method accomplishes that.

Here's the coverage I found:

I don't consider deception to be the same thing as PC, and I think this falls more into the deception/protection category.

interesting, it's been the norm here for a few years that any terrorist type assault is rarely reported as an "Islamic terrorist" the media seem to go to great pains to not mention the facts that nearly all of the perpetrators we've seen on our shores are radical muslims. Bending over backwards to not offend Islam seems to be not only the PC thing but even some more recent anti villification laws could be seen to be a threat to freedom of speech .. interesting area
