Call Your Shot (Presidential Race)

So you will have a problem with a very rich president then. Trump's whole life has been about making money. So what's your point exactly? It is funny that people blasted Romney for being rich four years ago but seem to not have the same issues with Trump. Why?

I do if it is all dirty money made by selling out America. Trump wants to reverse the Clinton disease. He wants to bring jobs back including his own outsourced jobs.

@Broncster, I've been busy but I wanted to get back to you in what I think is a healthy discussion. About the war in Iraq, we admit that it was a mistake. To make a mistake of such caliber should be grounds to quit politics, forever. When you make a mistake that directly affects the lives of thousands of civilians you should show more dignity as a person. This apologetic approach to the mistakes Hillary has made in the past comes through to me as going against "the other guy" more than anything.

At this point, when you say that Donald Trump's foreign policy is basically non existent this is actually music to my ears. I'd rather have a non existent foreign policy than an overly interventionist policy. When Trump says things like "Why can't be friends with Russia?" I'm absolutely on board. My biggest fear about Hillary is if she decides to attempt to end Assad's regime the same way she supported ending Gaddafi's. Russia has Assad's back, is it worth it to risk a direct confrontation with Russia?

What's your stand on the role the US should have in the world? Do you support having military bases over 100 countries in the world, do you think this benefits the way other countries see us?
Don't you think it's time the DoD actually focuses on defense, rather than offense? The US foreign policy is that of interventionism, policing the world, attempting to force our views into other countries and fear mongering. I'm sorry but Hillary doesn't lead me into thinking that we're heading in the opposite direction like we should.

Did you read Clintons voting record about the Iraq war? I am guessing what you posted you would agree with her on everything but her vote to give Bush power to make decisions quickly. She said why she didnt it and doesnt regret voting that way because it was the right choice for our safety but regrets putting trust in the Bush administration to do the right thing/ what they said they would do. She was strongly against attacking Iraq and dropping bombs. She was very vocal about not starting fighting. I do not by any means see the Iraq War as Clintons fault. She along with most of the senators voted to give bush power to make quick decisions, which in what was perceived as a time of war and a growing threat against us wasn't the worst idea. Most citizens felt it was a good decision at the time. Hindsight makes it easy to see mistakes. Anyone that voted for Bush in either election (especially after what Bush Sr did in regards to middle east policy and Bush jr was preaching the same ideas) is just as much or more guilty of the Iraq war as Clinton is. Additionally Trump just picked a VP that voted for the war and was in favor of it the whole way through.

I agree mostly about not having troops around the world in the capacity we have them in. I think most the modern wars were terrible decisions. I think that you would agree with most of Clinton's policy in regards to this. The presence she wants is one of peace and keeping the communication lines open with other countries. She wants to increase our peace talks, increase our anti-terrorism units for intel and prevention and eliminating actual bases and troops in foreign lands.

Trump does have a policy its just a joke. It is claiming big things that are not practical and will cause problems with other countries. He says he doesnt want a relationship with Russia not because he wants to ignore them or let them do what they want. He wants us to be a bully in the world. That is part of his "make america great" slogan. He wants us to be the toughest baddest country and no one will want to mess with us or they get beat up. He just said this week in his 60min interview that he wants to declare war on Isis and send special units in to kick their butts and kill them all off. Do you want us going into every Islamic nation and assassinating people we think are involved in Isis? He wants to force NATO to fight by our side. He wants us to destroy any country or organization that threatens our freedom. This sounds like the very opposite of what you want in my opinion.

Unfortunately the US cannot just ignore the rest of the world and stay out. We can work on peace talks, we can work with United Nations and other groups and be in agreement. We can increase our home security and increase intel from around the world through proper channels. We can stay out of other countries problems unless they are bad enough that the world organizations agree to help out. We will never be free from terrorism, wars and threats to our countries safety. We can do our best to avoid them and be in peace with as many countries as possible.

There is a lot more about this that I could go into but I think my point now is that you seem to be much more in alignment with Clinton's foreign policy and more in agreement with her voting history than you are with Trumps.

Broncster, the problem is that the war in Iraq shouldn't have started in the 1St place without the approval from Congress. What Bush did was a big mistake, what Clinton did is a big mistake, what Pence did is a big mistake. And they all have blood in their hands.

About being in line with Trump's voting history, he doesn't have one. I'll eat crow if I end up voting for him and he ends out being more of the same. Let's try to be more objective here. Dennis Kucinich, a democrat, ran for president when Obama was elected. I would have voted for him 100 times out of 100 instead of Romney, just because of his stand on foreign policy (he did not vote for granting powers to Bush to start the intervention in Iraq).

You Pre-WWII types crack me up. You want to return to the days when countries like Russia can start expanding like they did in Crimea with no repercussion. Yeah, let us sit back cause isolationism rhetoric until they bomb Pearl Harbor then we can send millions of US children to there deaths defending us.

What a stupid concept. There is good reason we have bases fencing the peaceful world in.

One thing to keep in mind about the Presidential race is that the majority of people alive, are really really dumb.

Think about how many people you meet each day that are dumb, then imagine how many people you don't know that must also be really dumb.

Obama became President by capturing the "dumb vote". He promised the dumbest, most ridiculous stuff ever, and the dumb vote was his because of it.

I think in this election, Trump is gonna win the dumb vote easily. I don't think that everyone voting for Trump is dumb at all (If I vote I'll vote for him) but he's doing a really good job of going for the dumb vote.

Trump is going to be the next President y'alll.

That's a classic u gotta love it baby post.

Love it.

Since he has no voting history I am forced to take his word on his foreign policy. He has been very adamant about going to war with countries that disagree with him. He is very much about being a bully to other countries. I guess there is a chance that he changes once elected but that seems like a strange thing to hope for. I personally am going to stick with someone that has voted the same way I would have the majority of the time and the one time she did not I think there is decent justification and reasoning but understand you disagree with that.

That said I dont hate Trump as much as others on this board do. I disagree with a lot of his policies but I do like the independent non politician style he has. I like that he is different and doesnt owe his votes to corporations as much. I just dont agree with most of his policies or tactics. I also think he is not a terribly smart person after watching interviews and reading about him. I dont think he will ruin America if president but I think it he will be a poor president. Good thing there are plenty of checks in place and Trump will drive America more left if in the office.

I was on board until this, I don't get what you're trying to say with that.

Troll troll troll troll! Additionally I think that troll is the way Americans should troll! If we only troll than troll will make this country great again. But I think troll even though you are all like Troll. Do you not think if troll we will be in troll????

Or did you want a real response to you pulling **** out your *** and smearing it on my screen?

That whenever a president that is one side comes into the office and is bad it drives the country the other way. I am socially more liberal and fiscally pretty conservative and think that this country (which has been shifting left for a long time) will continually drift left socially and that is a good thing. Gay rights, racial issues and womens rights need to not be addressed and solved.

That's a classic u gotta love it baby post.

Best part is how he says trump gonna win. Then the very next post (from stoked iirc) explains that he is currently getting his *** kicked in all the polls everywhere.
Dumb indeed

What do you think about the quoted part of the above post? You have always seemed to think the usa should stay out of other countries business (me too).

Stoked says Trump is getting his *** kicked everywhere, but an individual poster's claim is proof of nothing. The polls show differently. Hillary's overall margin is frighteningly thin, especially given the fact that she's outspending him by an enormous margin so far. Anyone who thinks Trump has no chance of winning is fooling themselves at this point. The same thing goes for anyone who thinks Clinton has no chance of winning.

Stoked usually has really good and honest info

Reagan talked tough and then backed up his words. It made the world safer because once people realized he wasn't bluffing the amount of provocation dropped to nothing. Our greatest enemy (by far) at the time literally folded up their tent.

Ok.
I was asking jamezz a specific question because he always seems to be against messing with other countries.
That provoked a response from you somehow. Interesting. Maybe you felt the need to defend trumps thoughts once again for some strange reason.

You just can't resist

Americans are so sensitive. When I painted you isolationists in the right light you pout troll troll troll. Admit it you had no response to defend your asinine isolationist stance. You are the troll.

What if we host an intervention for you? Will that satisfy you?

I guess you should have sent a PM if you wanted to avoid hearing from anyone else.
