Rumor: Jazz and DeMarcus Cousins

Malone was a loose cannon and yet still a million times more mentally stable than Cousins. Dude might be the best player in the league but he will straight quit on you mid-game, hell, mid-possession over the littlest thing.

Did Karl ever do that?
Karl never did that but nearly every off season there was a crisis. He needed his ego stroked. LHM and Sloan were very skilled at handling him. I think it's possible that Cousins would benefit from the same sort of handling (though I haven't watched him enough to really know).

If the Jazz made this trade, they would need to have a team psychiatrist on retainer. Last year was not George Karl's first rodeo and he admits he screwed up when he made a comment that anyone on the Kings roster was tradeable if the right offer came up. That put Cuz into a funk and he turned it into World War III with Karl. The point being is that George Karl has always been viewed as a player's coach and if he couldn't co-exist I'm not sure anyone can.

This thread was huge letdown for me. I saw the title of the thread and got very excited. Cousins is badly underrated on jazzfanz. If I was a ball player stuck on the Kings. I'd have been kicked out of basketball a long time ago. I don't blame him for his antics on the court. It's insanity that he's still on the Kings.

Oh shut up. You can't fool anyone you know the right path of Jazz!

Cousins is not under estimated on here. Guy is a fantastic talent. One of the most talented, if not the most talented, Cs in the league. The problem was never his ability. It was his mental fortitude. He is the biggest thing holding him back.
I should've clarified. His mental state is underrated. He has his issues like so many others, but his situation has created a monster that can't be contained. The kings are holding him back

Let me tell ya. Karl had it so much easier + a million. He played on a winning team with the best pg in NBA history a respected HOF coach with little to no ego that didn't throw players under the bus and a father figure of an owner. Malone was as big a loose cannon as anyone ever in the NBA, but no one knows this because of his environment. I've never seen Cousins give up. He seems like a guy that plays with intensity, and every report I e heard is that he's a great teammate, and has the respect of the players on his team.

Also, how fast we forget the infamous Larry H blowup in a playoff game, where he demanded Malone be benched because he wasn't trying because he and Larry were having one of their disagreements.

You may very well be right but what troubles me in the hypothetical discussion of Cousins to the Jazz is: LHM is dead and Jerry Sloan can't remember his home address. If this were 1997, I'd be driving the Cousins bandwagon but in 2016 I don't know if we've got strong enough personalities in management/coaching to overcome the challenges he brings.

I completely understand this line of thinking and I am by no means convinced Cousins would be the right fit for us. I do think the Jazz have a much stronger positive culture than the Kings. If Cousins really is a guy who is going to blossom to his full potential under the right sort of environment it would sure be cool to be the team that pulls that off. Big risk/big reward.

Then your an idiot that is simply a bandwagon fan. Q is highly respected from players all over the league and our ownership doesn't let himself be known like that of the Kings. Who opens mouth and inserts foot.
