What's new

DNC

Hilarious watching the conservative posters on this site comment incessantly on how cheesy and bad this convention is.

As if Michelle Obama's speech I mean Ivanka's speech, Laura Ingram's rant about skinny jeans, Gulianini's scream fest for cops, Carson's sermon about Clinton and Lucifer, Christie's trial where many called for the imprisionment or execution of Clinton, or Cruz's last stand, weren't just brutal.

Clearly, some of you are just seeing what you want to see.

I thought the convention has had its cheesy moments (like every convention). But Elizabeth Warren destroyed Trumo. Michelle Obama was powerful and Sanders was awesome. Overall, they're talking about policy and not just playing on fear.

Oh, and no one is calling for the arrest or execution of trump. So that's nice.

keep telling me how bad the DNC convention has been! Go on!

Yes. For about 5 years.

Free college will be funded via the same fund that Trump wants to pay for the wall, the increased defense spending, the carpet bombing of the Middle East, and his massive tax cut to billionaires from.

Let's not act like free or subsidized higher education is some radical idea that isn't currently being funded and accomplished in most industrialized nations currently.

Isn't it sad that we have $600 billion annually to defense and have flushed $2 trillion down the toilet in Iraq, yet refuse to help our own students out? Essentially, we are the only industrialized country in the world that turns its back on students for education and citizens for health care.

But let's keep slashing estate taxes. Lets keep those subsidies comin for agriculture and oil. Let's keep invading the Middle East. These handouts are fine.

Talk about seeing what you want to see, where are these examples of posters saying that the convention has been cheesy that you are supposedly responding to?

And while it's true that we haven't heard anybody chanting to lock Trump up, the Bernie supporters have been chanting to lock Hillary up. Apparently the parties are closer together than many people think.

Right?

But tell me again Joe Bagnuts and Mr Kentucky Wildcats how embarrassed for our country the DNC convention made you feel.

Clearly, conservative posters on this site are only seeing what they want to see.
I have repeatedly said we have two poor choices. I referred to being embarrassed regarding the two parties and their respective candidates... after having watched the primaries and portions of both conventions.

No one here is even remotely as party-obnoxious as you are and it comes off as a toddler-like temper tantrum.

Trump wasn't even really that hard.

Not really. It is the military's job to keep us safe. That costs money.

It is not the governments job to coddle you but with your childish posting style I get that that is what you need.

It is not the governments job to coddle you

Just so you are aware the government has been coddling us with welfare and government assistance programs since before the US even won its independence. In fact the government of every great country in the world has welfare/government assistance. Germany, France, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Italy, japan, Canada, and on and on. Even back in the day of the Roman empire they gave food for free to those who couldn't afford it.
The Song dynasty government (c.1000AD in China) supported multiple programs which could be classified as social welfare, including the establishment of retirement homes, public clinics, and paupers' graveyards.
Early welfare programs in Europe included the English Poor Law of 1601, which gave parishes the responsibility for providing welfare payments to the poor. It was predominantly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that an organized system of state welfare provision was introduced in many countries. Otto von Bismarck, Chancellor of Germany, introduced one of the first welfare systems for the working classes. In Great Britain the Liberal government of Henry Campbell-Bannerman and David Lloyd George introduced the National Insurance system in 1911, a system later expanded by Clement Attlee.
In the Islamic world, Zakat (charity), one of the Five Pillars of Islam, has been collected by the government since the time of the Rashidun caliph Umar in the 7th century. The taxes were used to provide income for the needy, including the poor, elderly, orphans, widows, and the disabled. According to the Islamic jurist Al-Ghazali (Algazel, 1058–1111), the government was also expected to store up food supplies in every region in case a disaster or famine occurred.
Interestingly enough when bill clinton (a democrat lol) was in office he reformed welfare big time and actually gave money to each individual state to handle welfare on their own. Each state must meet certain criteria to ensure recipients are being encouraged to work themselves out of Welfare. The new program is called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. It encourages states to require some sort of employment search in exchange for providing funds to individuals, and imposes a five-year lifetime limit on cash assistance. In fiscal year 2010, 31.8% of TANF families were white, 31.9% were African-American, and 30.0% were Hispanic.

Seems like it is, and has always been, the government's job to coddle its citizens who need coddling, to some extent.

Kinda painful watching Bernie conceding defeat to Hillary amidst the leaked email scandal as well.... feels like Hillary just got away with muder yet again without any consequences.

With this momentum I think Trump's gonna win and he should win comfortably.

So much passion early on. It makes you wonder if he was threatened..

or promised something?

Welfare an coddling are two separate notions, but great job lifting this from a **** Marxist website an not referencing.

Are you republicans really still insinuating that Clinton "murders" or "has murdered" someone in the past?

I think the truth is painfully obvious. Sanders sees that if he keeps fighting it will result in both he and Clinton losing. That means in trump winning. A trump win would set progressives and America back years and years.

At this point, sanders is fighting for the country. a trump win is a big loss for every single American.

A Clinton win means that many of Sander's plans will be given a chance as Clinton has adopted them. Whether or not congress passes them is an entirely different thing altogether.
