Pokemon Go

The last 4 you mentioned are supposedly coming before too long, starting with a better method of gym defense. They could take this so many different directions. I think now though is the time to start trying to monetize it individually, as was mentioned in previous posts. Anyone wanna go find a glut of eevees? I know 4 places in clearfield/layton that reliably produce eevees. Just $10 per person per eevee caught! Now that is a deal and a guarantee!

Already happening. Woman in NYC is offering her services as a "professional Pokémon player". $20 an hour and she will take your phone for 1-4 hour shifts and hit every pokestop while walking and catching any pokmeon she finds.

Guy in St. George turned a truck into a 9 person Pokémon tour. He drives you play, 15$ an hour

Guy in Memphis got a bus and its 18$ per person for a 2 1/2 hour safari that will include 3 parks and 2 lures.

Some woman made portable Pokeball phone chargers.

I would not mind if Nintendo would make my business place a pokestop. Anybody knows how to do it?

My neighborhood has about 5 small parks within 1/4 mile of each other or so (clearfield). Each of them have between 2 and 7 pokestops and each has at least 1 gym. Every single night they are packed with cars and people from about 5 until well after midnight. It is insane.

Also, some of the people playing the beta (who were some of the original ingress players, which is also by Niantic and google) were invited to a closed beta for pokemon go, including me and my son, and we had the chance to win beta eggs from pokestops. I hatched 2 of the 3 legendaries from these eggs (Articuno and Zapdos). They were supposed to reset everything after the beta but the legendaries and anything we had evolved to full evolution remained. Of course you cannot find any more of the legendary birds to further evolve yet so for now they are an oddity at best as there are better pokemon currently in the game. For example until the first full server crash/update a couple of weeks ago you could evolve an Arcanine to well in excess of 2700 CP, which is nuts. I have one and so does my son. We can place them both on a gym, battle low levels between each other to power-level and to level up the gym, then add the variations of vaporeon that are also over 2000 and hold that gym for a long time. We held a single gym for 7 days straight with 6 pokemon on it with the lowest at a CP of about 1800. It took a concerted effort by team urine (the yellow team, of course we are team valor, the only legit team =) to take the gym from us. We took it back in a half hour.

But it has reached the point of the grind that most games like this tend to reach at some time or another. Spin the pokestops, run out of pokeballs and greatballs, run out of potions, wait or go find another pokestop, get a ton of razzies, never enough pokeballs. And now the experience required to level is insane. There are a few tricks to powerlevel but it just gets you to the grind portion faster which then makes the game boring.

Anyone that has been our experience so far. I think this game may have staying power depending on how they adapt to the problems/glitches/stalls in the game. It is well over 3 years later and I still play Ingress on the reg so I think Pokemon go has a chance. But if you get few high level players on the same faction that work at it you can own some serious real estate for a long time. The best our team has done (about 8 of us) is held 12 gyms for 4 consecutive days before losing a single gym. So the potential is there for a fast playing faction to crowd others out in a local area. Luckily the collecting and evolving factor make for a semi-interesting side-game.

By the way, once you hit around level 20 you start to see pidgies starting at over 300 CP, found one as high as 405 or so. They evolve pretty well. And there is enough randomness to the game that occasionally you get some fairly rare pokemon at higher levels than you would expect for your play level. At level 12 or so I found an eevee at 385 base CP. He turned into a very nice vaporeon before I even hit level 15.

Sorry, no, I still don't believe you. Let's see some nice screenshots of your Articuno and Zapdos.

Are eveed rare or something? Evees are all around where I live.

They need to improve the combat system and make it like the original games. That would give the game way more depth.

I think that was part of the point. Making money off the game easily. Lots of Eevees =s lots of money.

Wut?

If there's a ton of something readily available for free, why the hell would people pay for it?

High supply of something, even with a decent demand = low prices...even more so if it's available free. Basic Econ.

Too many Eevee's everywhere = non-excludable good = impossible to monetize.

Damn, really ya'll? It was an exaggerated example to illustrate easy ways to make money off the game. Instead of acknowledging the point you want to focus on the random pokemon he chose? There are a lot of them, which is why he chose it as his example, for dramatic effect.

Seemed to me he was being somewhat serious. If he was going for obvious sarcasm I would think he would go with pidgey/ratat

All his posts reek in this thread. I don't know why he's come on here and feels the need to fib about a pokemon game on Jazzfanz. It's legit weird, and hilarious. I don't disagree and was previously aware that this game can be monetized by enterprising individuals. This, also, has already been proven by you specifically.

Ftr, I'm not saying that everything LogGrad said was wrong. Player trading, pvp battles etc. and other things not discussed (hopefully a tweak to a turn based battle system, yay)) are on their way according to the developers. This is common knowledge and easily accessible.

Legendaries (Mewtwo, Mew, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres) are not available to anyone and there have been no confirmed sightings, closed beta or otherwise, by anyone on the planet. I'm skeptical when a random dude with overly wordy post including statements about non-evolving pokemon that "further evolve" decides to claim that he and his son have two of the legendary birds.

First, you must not have been around long if you think wordy posts from me are somehow suspicious. Second, believe whatever you want. I added in my experience which is a bit unique since I got to participate in a closed beta that didn't have many players at all, and it changed quite a bit from that to the live game. And 3rd nearly everything I know about Pokémon is from this game. My kids played the card game and watched the shows. I never did. Other than what changes into what in the game (like the evee I evolved into a vaporeon today) I know all but nothing of what Pokémon does what, changes into what, or why. Sorry it makes you so hot under the collar that someone has a different experience from you that you felt it required a neg rep (is that even a thing anymore?). I feel no need to prove anything to you since you are obviously of the opinion I'm just a pathological liar or something you wouldn't believe it anyway.

But I hope you have fun catching all those eevees I must have been lying about. Enjoy!

Sorry if this is off-topic, but it seems to belong in this thread

If these folks are registered voters (which I doubt) I'd bet they'd vote for Trump.

When deputies arrived at the Arizona home, they found a barefoot 2-year-old who was wearing just a diaper and a T-shirt and trying to get inside, according to a news release.

“The child was red faced, sweaty, and dirty,” the release from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office states.

Authorities found three dogs when they searched the San Tan Valley home, but they didn’t find the child’s parents, according to the release. Eventually, though, deputies located a telephone number for the man they thought was the child’s father.

“When they called and told him his child was found abandoned,” he replied, ‘Whatever’, and hung up on the deputies,” the release stated.

The boy’s parents, 27-year-old Brent Daley and Brianne Daley, 25, were arrested on charges of child endangerment and child neglect after the incident, which occurred late last month. The couple told authorities that they left the toddler alone while they were playing Pokémon Go, authorities say.
