Jazz players in the Olympics

Wow, Brazil beats Spain.... unexpected. Any comments from those who saw it? Maybe Spain is really getting old. Lost to Croatia, now to Brazil...

Did I say something about home court advantage? :D Huertas did a great job running the offense and Gasol and Mirotic really struggled for Spain.

Now Nigeria threatening to beat Lithuania. Group B would be thrown into complete craziness if they hold on.

Spain is getting older in age but the big problem I saw for them is their guard play. It's really poor. The guards struggled against Croatia and struggled again today, minus a few spurts.

Rudy Fernandez 2/6, 8 points
Ricky Rubio 1/3, 3 points, fouled out
Sergio Llull 3/7, 11 points
Sergio Rodriguez 3/6, 10 points
Jose Calderon played for like one minute

I don't think it's a talent issue, I think it more of a chemistry thing. Too many guys who need the ball in their hands. They look completely out of sync.

Spanish coach needs to play Abrines more I think. Real shooting guard who should bring plenty of energy and shooting.

Coopers isn't rubbish and it isn't from NSW either. You must be thinking of Tooheys.

that's the one .. coopers, tooheys

i'd prefer a James Boag or a cider from Tasmania, or either a Shiraz the Barossa or Pinot from the Yarra Valley

I think so too. Fernandez and Rubio are really struggling for the amount of minutes they are getting. I would cut back their minutes and give some time to Abrines next to Llull and Rodriguez.

I can't help but wonder how Gordon is feeling watching these olympics from home. I bet he has regrets or at least mixed feelings knowing that he could have been there.

I watched the whole game and the spaniards really seemed to lack energy or interest. They are smart and experienced, of course, but this is not enough. I really think age has something to do with it. Neto played okay in a backup role. He hit an important three, stopping a run by the spaniards (near the end of the first quarter, if I remember it correctly) and had one bad turnover by dribbling into traffic.

I also watched the first half of France against Australia on saturday - when the game was still close. Diaw made some really good passes and made think of Magic Johnson when he came back out of retirement to play PF. He seems chubbier than the last time I saw him, though.

Australia beating the US on half time.

Do you believe they'll hang in there 'till the end of the game?

No. I think Durant takes over in the 2nd half. USA leads by 10 at end of 3rd.
