To what group? Good for him for putting his money where his mouth is. Lends his actions some weight.

I like some of his quotes, not all, in here. I like how he is trying to separate his protest from anything negative towards those that served. This is a much more effective way IMO. I wonder if he is challenging other athletes to step up as well.

I will be honest, I still do not like the way he is protesting but oh well. I don't have to. Nor do I agree with all the messages of his protests (like his PIGS socks). But this does alter my perception of this event some. In a positive way towards Kaep.

Albania's flag ****s on all. Two-headed shadow eagle flying round yer asses.

Kosovo's is total trash tho. Canada's is pretty unique too.

Albania's looks like something you'd see on an evil empire in some science fiction movie. I bet Oceania from 1984 had something like that. If I ever start my own dictatorship, and I probably will, I'm totally stealing that flag.

Canada's is possibly my favorite flag.

More are joining him in protest.

Colin Kaepernick's protest has spread to a division rival.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane sat during the national anthem before Thursday's game against the Oakland Raiders, following the lead of the San Francisco 49ers quarterback’s response to strained race relations in America and, specifically, police brutality against African Americans.

Though the Seahawks and 49ers have been bitter rivals in recent seasons, several Seattle players showed healthy support of Kaepernick when asked about his stance during the week.

Lane said he didn't inform any of his teammates or coaches that he would take the stance.

"It's something I plan to keep on doing until justice is being served," Lane told reporters after the game.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he supported Lane's decision.

"It's a totally individual decision," Carroll said. "I'm proud of the progress we're making in the conversation."

A fifth-year veteran from Northwestern State, Lane is in line for a starting role opposite Richard Sherman in the Seahawks' secondary. He signed a four-year contract this offseason.

Kaepernick once again did not stand during the national anthem on Thursday, choosing to kneel before the team's game against the San Diego Chargers. He was joined by 49ers safety Eric Reid.

Good on em? Are you kidding me? Just because 1 football player expresses his opinion the police are going to be like "Well **** everyone at this football game we arent going to help anyone because our feelings are hurt". Dumbest **** I have ever read in my life. Cops are, in general, dumb as **** and this only proves that point further.

Yeah, that's beyond stupid.

One dude insults the police force because he doesn't like how some police officers perform their job. The police quit. That's some major league butthurt.

It also in no way helps alleviate the issues that are the basis for Kaepernick's protest. In fact, it does the exact opposite.

He was gonna be cut regardless.
Wrong. Made the team though as a backup, but I'm confident that had he been healthy all offseason and gotten as much work he would be the starter
Lol I guess the "n word" isn't racist to you?

Black calling another black the n word isn't the same as a white calling black the n word
Kaeps pig cop socks are a ****ing disgrace, hopefully the San Francisco police department refuses to work their games.
I've always been a of that police, but there are those cops that deserve the name. Keap was wrong for wearing the socks, but there are cops, and they know who they are that should be called worse.

I will be honest, I still do not like the way he is protesting but oh well.
Please tell me for the love of god what the hell is wrong with how he chooses to protest? Is he inconveniencing anyone? Is he hurting anyone? Seems to me that the flag also represents his right to sit in protest of injustice caused by the US. Government.

It's also sad that we as a people get so easily butt hurt over something so innocent as sitting during the anthem. Instead of trying to understand why Keap is doing what he is doing they call him an idiot or cause the discussion to to be distorted. Or people say he is doing this because he needs his 15 minutes of fame, but anyone that has followed him over the years on social media would know he's had these views for a long time.

Anyone can be ok with the status quo, but one shows honor and love to his country when he wants to make it better for all and not just himself. What people like Trump refuse to recognize is that this protest isn't about Kaep, but those without a voice or platform. What resonates with me is that he said he can't in good conscious stand for a nation that doesn't treat all people with the same respect.

The weakest argument of all is people like Trump saying he should find a new country that better fits his views. How can I count the ways this is so idiotic.

So who's to say he is respecting this country any less than a man that stands for the anthem. I believe Kaep said it best when he said that people in the military are dying in vein because the rest of us aren't doing our part. That was in response to a question of those saying he is disrespecting the military.

To me it seems Kaep is of a sound mind and that these issues are important enough for him to put his livelihood on the line. It fully seems he understands what he is getting himself into.

The way I see it is he is going about fighting injustice in a respectful, and none violent way, and what do people do?? They are reviling him, but this is nothing new to Kaep as he has always been criticized and hated by a large contingent of the media for not looking the part of a starting qb in the NFL as far as having tatto's and such. Much of these people are now resting his case.

Just do your ****ing job. This isn't a police state. People can say whatever they want about you. Disagree with them, speak your mind, but do your job.
