Our ESPN Forecast crew was very bullish on the Jazz this summer, predicting the team will finish with 45 wins. RPM was even more optimistic, pegging them as the third-best team in the West. That's a remarkable jump for a team that missed the playoffs last year.

Part of the jump is the expectation that the team is finally healthy and their young players will continue to develop. The rest is based on a stellar summer that saw them add veteran depth at key positions, shore up their shooting and do it all without giving away key assets or spending big money. The Jazz got better without giving up anything of value or sacrificing their flexibility in the future. That's a difficult thing to pull off.

Hill should be a major upgrade at the point until Dante Exum is ready to take over. Johnson provides shooting and depth at the wing and Diaw's experience and passing ability in the frontcourt will be welcome.

There were no home runs here, but the Jazz didn't need them. They just needed to fill some holes with the right pieces. It looks like they did a terrific job.

Yes because this obviously means we are guaranteed the championship this year. I'm so excited some guy said we had the 2nd best something or other. It is such a tangible reward. Or something. Especially since that person decides who wins everything I guess.

Really you do realize this mostly means it was generally a ****ty off season for everyone else right? It is kind of interesting being crucified for being the realistic one though. At least I've allowed JF to maintain their solid reputation as the most trolled sports message board by being fodder for the trolls like dalatroll.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but do u think there were actual realistic moves the Jazz could've made to make them a title contender, and even if we aren't actual contenders, I believe we are good enough to be top 4 in the west, witch does make us a contender weather we are or not, but unless we had any chance of signing KD we were never going to be a contender this coming year.

What we have done is to plant the seeds for contention in the future as the Jazz org plant the seeds of winning. In a way this team is still rebuilding. Each rebuild is different. If we had a top 5 star, we would be done rebuilding. Not sure what lofty expectations u had for the Jazz in the offseason, but it wasn't too shabby.

too right .. more positional flexibility than an Olympic gymnast, more length at every position than .... the ability to switch across multiple matchups .. gonna be a slutty season for sure
