Official UofU homer thread

Other then the deep ball Williams hasn't looked good. Lot of throws off the mark and makes bad decisions throwing into traffic instead of running or throwing it out of bounds. Can't throw a pick inside the 20

Utah's first five offensive possessions: Fumble, Fumble, Dropped pass for a 1st down, Int, Int.

So the INT's look bad, but there was no offensive flow to this game. Also give credit to BYU their defense was active.

Last drive by each team was great football. Everything before was a hot mess.

Think Zach Moss has earned himself some more carries, I like how hard he runs and with both hands secured on the ball.

Oh and since this is a U homer thread I think it's been too long without something like this

This photo kinda sums up how I think most Utah fans probably feel. Not crazy excited, maybe even a little disappointed, but it was a win and we got it done on D if nowhere else. One day after a win we will be talking about our quarterback but until that day comes comes we will point to the ground and say your guy ate grass tonight.

So how unimpressive has Utah looked thus far? Just checked the line against San Jose State and the Utes are favored by a whopping 13 points. For a little perspective, SJSU is coming off a 35 point loss to Tulsa. So many of us are expecting Utah to have a tune-up game (myself included) but if the oddsmakers are right, they're in for a bit more of a dogfight than we'd like to think.

What do you do at the U? Do you tell your coworkers how you feel about the athletic program there? It seems very odd to me that the people you are surrounded by and the institution you are paid by has 0 influence on what you care about.

I do a few things for the U, none of them full-time or really even part-time. I go in about 1-2 a month. Yes everyone there knows I am a Ducks fan and dislike Utah sports and only rarely cheer for them to win.

I do not currently, but have trained multiple Utah football players as well as other athletes from different sports at Utah. All of them know that I like the Ducks fan and I tease and talk trash about the U. All of them know its a game and its just for fun. No one takes sports talk serious or personal. I do always cheer for any of the kids I have worked with to do well, regardless of who they are playing and dont really care that much about it. Sports are a game that should be taken light hearted and joked about. This includes some trash talk that everyone laughs about both ways.

What's your vocation, if I may?

Kylie Fitts out for the year due to injury and Joe Williams retires?

Butler-Byrd is also back.

I was coming to post the same thing, strangely enough I when I went looking it wasn't for any of these players it was for the the 2 players that had concussions (Troy McCormick & Demari Simpkins) and Tyrone Smith and his shoulder injury and I have yet to find info on them yet.

Willson was an elite 11 qb Williams was once the top duel threat qb as a prospect. Am I missing something. Do the Utes coaching staff just not know how to develop talent at qb?

I'm sick of not having a qb the Utes can rely on. With a decent qb we are a house hold name the last two years. We haven't had a qb it feels like since our last undefeated season in 08

You're already quitting Troy Williams after 1 horrible game?

Maybe it's because they share the same initials "TW" as Travis Wilson.
