I disagree. Even great players get lucky. It happens. Sometimes they are unlucky as well.
Agreed. That was some amazing defense. No luck involved at all imo.Yeah, it's fine to diss anyone for a single play, but to call any play by Dante lucky as if he doesn't have it in him is pretty ridiculous.
Good to see that Hayward has been working w/Lyles on that steback.(2:33)

I disagree. Great players constantly put themselves in a position to make a lucky plays. Dante did that last night.

So did Dante got lucky or not? Is there a threshold of talent where luck no longer exists?
20 more lbs. of muscle might help. I think he's just afraid of contact at the moment. He showed that wasn't as afraid during summer league 2015. He'll get back to that kind of play eventually. He'll get faster too which is a crazy thought.
I don't think you understand what luck is. Winning the lottery is luck. There is no way to prepare or practice to win the lottery. However, professional athletes with length, speed, quickness can do things to make themselves better players. Exum has always been a shut down defender since he came into the league. There was no luck involved on that play.Point is when the move was made, Dante was able to stay in front to be in position to get the Lockyer strip that's what good players do and they tend to get lucky more often. They create luck. I believe this whether u do or not.
Part of it is confidence on his knee too.
Free pass? Huh, some of us simply said that was a really good defensive play. Do you think it wasn't a good defensive play?
And yes, if he got burned badly on that particular play instead then we would probably criticize him (like a few of us did when Austin rivers destroyed him with crossover in the first half).
I don't find this to be the incorrect way to analyze a player. Makes sense to me to praise a player when he does good and criticize when he does bad.
The strip was a little lucky... the lateral movement was great.
Exum is a conundrum... gets where he wants to but can't finish. I don't know how to solve that... reps are good but it also seems like one of those things that should come fairly naturally. Either way I still like his potential still. Will reserve judgement until he's played 40 games this year.
You must have not seen where he And 1'ed CP3 and ran off like a schoolgirl when he heard the whistle and let Paul convert.
I see it how it is, he got very lucky. Lucky enough that we sing praises for him, but not so fast junior! I think his hand came down in a reflex as he fell and just so happened to be at the right place at the right time to strip the ball.
