What's new

Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States.

I'll say this though. I'm old enough by now to not really be surprised by much. You learn over time that anything can happen so I do have faith that he could surprise us and be great.

You said it yourself.. "I can't wait til Trump does nothing..."

That's what I'm saying.
There are too many people in the country with self-pride that would rather point to a situation and say hahahaha I told you! Rather than be wrong but have a better situation.

I hated BOTH candidates but want whichever were to win do a great job.

Am I hopeful, yes. Confident, no.

But no matter who won I wouldn't be here spewing garbage about "I can't wait till they fail."

It's just jackassery.

Give me a ****ing break. Everyone knows the solution. Close the tax loopholes. But right, me and everyone else is just being negative and not simply stating the obvious.

At this point what can anyone do, but hope for the best and try to focus on the next election.

I dont want us to fail. I hope Trump tears apart NAFTA, and does Make America Great Again. I just don't think he will handle the job well.

Over half of white women voted for Trump.

One out of every three latino men voted for Trump.

One out of every four latino women voted for Trump.

Trump got 1.1M fewer votes than McCain, 2M fewer votes than Romney.
Clinton got 7M fewer votes than Obama 2012.
...

****ty candidate will do that for you.

Are you an expert on economy and tax law?
Have you ever taken a specific "loop hole" and follow it back to make your own conclusions as to cause and effect of maintaining or closing the same?

Without certain so-called "loop holes" (that I admit I have benefited from) it would not have been even possible to get many projects/businesses off the ground. These businesses have (no hyperbole) have resulted in otherwise non-existent millions of dollars per year in revenues to cities/counties/fed.. and also, literally, thousands of jobs.

The tax code needs major overhauls and I wish someone would get on it (I really do), but to be mad at a politician or an entrepreneur for taking advantage of the code without understanding what good might come from the same and the reason behind it is foolish.

The "loop holes" are available to everyone.

Not me.
I am stunned, also, though.

One of the most interesting election nights in my memory. My dad said the same thing. Watching the media meltdown was hilarious.

This will depend greatly on who he surrounds himself with and whether or not he listens to them. One thing Trump lacks is political expertise which is highly relevant and important to just handling the day to day of the presidency. His leadership and relationship building skills ate transferable but he will have plenty to learn that a career politician would have an easier time with. Hopefully Trump will recognize that and surround himself with the best advisors he can get, ideally from both sides of the aisle. Who knows this just may be the guy that can start chipping away at the hardened rhetoric of partisanship that is inevitably dragging the country down.

This doesn't mean it's an issue that needs to be resolved, as I stated.

It's only "rigged" by those that lost.

Russian lawmakers erupted into applause upon the announcement of Trump winning and Putin was the first leader to offer congratulations, saying that he looked forward to building better relations.

Great news! (I'm sure you posted this because you think that improved relations with Russia could be a big positive for the world, right?)

Spurned lovers are the worst enemies. This love affair won't last past the shirtless portrait of them together.

I'm worried about how women and minorities will be treated. I'm worried about the quality if the air we breathe, and the water we drink. I'm worried about how my children will view the office of the president with a man that commands so little respect.

I'm worried that the banking reform that we had to protect ourselves against recession and a use of power will be repealed.

I'm worried that we will go back to a world where it's ok for insurance companies to turn someone down because they had a cough last week.
