geography challenge

Missed Singapore, Comoros, and the Marshall Islands. The first one I feel especially stupid about while I was sure the last one was still an American territory. Apparently, they are not. They are in "free association" with the US, whatever that means.

https://geoguessr.com/ is a really fun game I reckon. You get put in a random place on google street view and you have to navigate around and try and pinpoint where in the world you are.

I went about 30 deep combined on a few of the maps and guessed them all within about 1500 miles or less.....which I thought was pretty good considering all the fields popping up........then something from Utah comes up.....and I guessed it was in Jordan. Figures.

One thing I just realized that makes it a lot easier is to look where the driver is in the cars.

Is it considered cheating if you find a sign that tells you where you are?

If it's not in the U.S., it generally doesn't help much. Did find a sign on one in less than a minute that said Montevideo was 240 km away. Road looked like it was headed south, so put a location I thought was about 100 miles away, since the guessing map doesn't really have scale. Was off about 60 km on the guess.

Well I had one where it put me in a small US town. No definable characteristics anywhere (so I assumed midwest), but within like 20 seconds I found a school that had the town name (forgot it) and the state (Iowa).
