Well it took George Hill 8 NBA seasons to get this good, so safe to say Exum has a lot of time left.

Exum is still at that Gordon Hayward first year pre teen body phase. He's like one of the Monstars before touching the basketball.

Yes.
Can he? Yes. He has the talent, and mind to be a special player. He can be an elite defender, a solid 3 pt shooter, and a fine distributer.
We shall see how healthy he stays, how strong he can get, and how is confidence is affected by spells like hes currently going through.

I think that Hill is exums ceiling. I expect that exum never gets to be as good as hill is right now but i have been happy to see some aggression from him this season. Of course all that got him is relegated to the bench and garbage time. smd.

If THIS Hill is Exum's ceiling, except a couple inches taller, I think most could live with that.
Exum needs to pattern himself after Hill - a smart player, great defender who plays within the system and can hit the three. And part of playing within the system is being an opportunist and exposing the weaknesses he sees in the defense. This will sometimes include making things happpen on offense when the ball isn't in his hands.

I don't think I'd ask him to become George Hill. I like Hill, Hill is great. But, I want to see Dante as more of a slasher/creator. More like a prime Derrick Rose than prime George Hill. I want him aggressive, beating his man off the dribble, and attacking the basket as his first option.

Hill has been good for a long time. He's just never been given the reigns to the offense like he has with Utah before. My understanding is that the Jazz FO had been coveting him for years. I am hoping that the newfound large role he is playing with the Jazz will entice him to resign. He's by far the best PG we've had since the D-Will heydays.
As to the question, I am skeptical Exum will ever get to this level.
Hill had an entire year where it was him as the primary guy, he wasnt this good. Look at his %'s, they aren't sustainable.

Certainly. I think that most fans would be happy with pretty much every player hitting their ceilings. Problem is that most dont his their ceilings and most really good players ceilings are higher than george hill. Usually really really good young players ceilings are set at hall of fame or multiple all star type levels rather than george hill levels. Right or wrong.

This is a super loaded question that isn't fair at-all. George Hill was a 4 year college player and started every game he played in at IUPUI. He turned 23 in the playoffs after his rookie season.
