Just to be clear *in case somebody may misinterpret* NJ's balls will still say "NJ" on them just like last year NY's did, it is to bad however that they can't combine them and have all of them with Utah's name and increasing their odds over all.
To relate it to something Trout can understand, just because my balls (ping pong) are in your mouth they are still mine and the possession is nine tenths of the law does NOT apply.

That wouldn't increase our odds, at all. Not a bit. Not a whiff. Since all the combinations are exclusive, you can basically add the NJ percentage and the Utah percentage to get our actual percentage for a #1 pick. Further, keeping them separate adds in a very small probability that we get two picks in the top three. There is not advantage to us to put all the combinations under "Utah".

Yes, and it's not even debatable. The history of success with the first 3 picks is generally pretty good. The last 10 years:
#1: Wall, Griffin, Rose, Oden, Bargnani, Bogut, Howard, James, Ming, Brown, Martin
#2: Turner, Thabeet, Beasley, Durant, Aldridge, Marvin Williams, Okafor, Milicik, Chandler, Jay Williams, Swift
#3: Favors, Harden, Mayo, Horford, Morrison, DWill, Gordon, Anthony, Dunleavy, Gasol, Miles
About 6 outright busts in 30. About 10 bona fide superstars depending on your definition. Plenty of overpriced disappointments, but serviceable players.
Contrast that with picks 5-7:
#5: Cousins, Rubio, Love, Green, Shelden Williams, Felton, Harris, Wade, Greek Stiff, Richardson, Miller
#6: Udoh, Flynn, Gallinari, Jianlian, Roy, Webster, Childress, Kaman, Wagner, Battier, Johnson
#7: Monroe, Curry, Gordon, Corey Brewer, Foye, Villanueva, Deng, Hinrich, Nene, Eddie Griffin, Mihm
Outright busts could number 8-10 depending on how you count. Superstars drop to 4 if you include Gordon, 3 if you don't.
Moral of the story is move up. Problem is everybody in the Top 3 knows how crappy this draft is so they won't likely take a straight 6 and 12 for 2 or 3. What you don't do is delude yourself into thinking you're going to get 2 solid players at 6 and 12. The overwhelming odds are 1 will be a stiff.

In 2006 Bargnani was first, Roy was sixth, and Reddick was eleventh, so I'd say it's at least debatable. That was the first and only draft I looked at in order to test your theory so maybe it was just an aberration. Nevertheless, if history has proven anything it's that the future is always uncertain, and that's not even debatable.

HAHAHA +Rep! I'm not Mormon either, but if the Jazz got 1 and 2 in the draft, I would convert the next day, come to your house, give you the discussions, AND have you baptized by the end of the week, fc!! LOL
You'd make a good Mormon, but I don't know about Chawx. He's into balls way too much.
