When the protesters march in the streets over a black man being shot, are they marching against that one particular case, or the police as a whole?

When they chant "Pigs in a blanket fry like bacon" and "What do we want, dead cops. When do we want them, now", are they meaning only that particular cop?

But that is stupid on his part. Some protests were completely justified and some trigger happy police officers should lose their jobs or even go to jail for abusing their position. This cop was protecting innocent students.
