Obviously lots of what ifs but the tech on Rudy was complete bs and even though the free throw was missed hurt us. When the guy shooting the two free throws after gets a warm up it helps calibrate the first free throw for the shooting foul.

The clock stuff is classic monkey work by the refs but not sure how much it changes things. Hayward may have shot a different shot... who knows. Heat were on fire.... we are a different team when we have Hill.

Rudy made the putback shot, it would have counted if the time that should have been there was. Right?
 
I dnt think 1.4 extra seconds would have changed our play call too much. It's not like thats enough time to really set anything else up beyond what we did.

Yup.

In the future, if and when we get an atrocious call in our favor in a close game, I'm going to remember this game (and hell, all of last season) and not feel guilty about it at all.

I think Hayward may have taken another dribble. May have gotten a better shot... maybe he passes it but I'm not sure it plays out exactly the same. I don't think JJ should be allowed to be tackled though when he was basically in perfect position for a tip in.
 
What a crushing, depressing, sickening loss. Thankfully with basketball the next game is a couple days away. I wish Hill wasn't so injury prone this year. I hope it stops soon.
 
Hard to look beyond the utter diarrhea from Exum and Neto tonight. They take the L for sure (with Exum taking the Lion's share).
 
Didn't see the game tonight, sounds like I missed a barnburner too even if it was a big disappointment. Enjoyed the banter along with the play by play on this thread. Told a coworker today never to bet on the Jazz when Hill is not in uniform. I swear that sometimes it's not even his play, but his mere presence. It's like he's some kind of Mystical Shaman of swag or something. How else do you explain a nineteen point blowout of the Rockets (who shocked the Warriors tonight) on the back end of a back to back? Tough loss tonight but realistically, our team is decimated (much worse than theirs) and Dragic is a handful for anyone, let alone our motley crew of backups. Anyway, they beat the Nuggets a lot more easily last night than they were able to beat us on this one. Spoelstra's no slouch.
 
Exum back to his old self after a few games in the doghouse. What a fragile little flower.

This loss WAS NOT like the two against Griz, and Bulls. I felt completely disgusted with our play after those games.
Tonight, at least offensively, we fought back and made it an exciting game. The atmosphere in the
4th qt was intense. We kept hitting shots to stay in the game. Kudos to Jingles, and Joe Joe for some
nice 3 balls late. The Rudy block. We were fighting. Our defense let us down in the end.

I'm the opposite, this loss is much worse. In those other games everything was just completely ****ed and Hayward was in some kind of rut. This game our offense was A+, we set a damn record for 3's in a game for the franchise (we hit more 3's tonight than either the Rockets or Warriors hit in double OT) and we still lost? Defense is our calling card and we let a ****ty offensive team, who also had a ton of injuries, drop that many points on us? Just inexcusable effort defensively, I dont care who was out. This game was easily winnable if players just focused more on the defensive end. If we are a game out of the playoffs, or a game out of homecourt, this will be one of the games we look back on.

I would not call that A+ offense. I would call that sub par offense that got bailed out by us getting hot from 3. We could not get inside at all. We were a perimeter jump shooting team that was on a lucky streak. Our defense stunk but that is kind of expected when the only good defenders we had were Gobert and Hayward, the rest of the players stink on defense or are injured. Rudy makes up for 1 or 2 bad defenders on the floor at a time not 3 or 4. I would call this a bummer of a loss but easily chalked up to injuries and overlooking a team.

W/e you want to call it we had a 135 offensive rating, which is insane.
