Can the Dante Exum Experiment Please End

WOW!!

Impatience is the key word here.

A 21 year old coming off a serious ACL injury and some of you guys are branding him a bust. How many guys play great basketball directly after suffering an ACL injury? I'm guessing some of you have absolutely no idea how hard it is mentally to gain the confidence back after such an injury.

His lateral movement is probably the hardest thing he will have to deal with, but give him some time and it will come back.

Overall he is definitely improved on his rookie season. Another preseason in the gym along with more experience and exum will be primed next season to show what he can do.

Exum when healthy had a loose handle, poor shot, zero playmaking ability, and terribly low aggressiveness on the offensive side.

I'm sorry, but he's been a bust. I give him about 15-20 more games. Ian Clark is a better offensive player than exum. If it weren't for his high draft position, everyone on here would be calling for his head. But just because you're drafted high doesn't mean you're any good. Just ask Detroit fans about Darko.

Exum's time is running out. H needs to start showing something

Exum's injury happened in the SUMMER of 2015. He's had nearly 18 months to recover. I don't buy the injury nonsense. He's still making the same mistakes as he did his rookie year. He's scared on offense and soft on defense. Sure he's a great athlete, like Jeremy Evans. But he's not doing anything with his athleticism.

A lot of people say it takes a year to fully recover after you start playing again.

You're full of the worst kind of BS .. cause you just think you know everything.

Exum is an athlete like Jeremy evans?

I didn't say they were the exact same. What I said was they were great athletes who produced zero. Exum isn't very skilled. His shot and ball handling are below average. He doesn't create. When he isn't hiding in a corner he's turning the ball over

A year AFTER he returns to play. Not after the injury.

Nonsense. Countless Athletes in both football and basketball have returned to form in one year or less from the time of their injury. Stop making excuses. It's not his lack of athleticism that's causing him to suck but his lack of actual skills. His ball handling, shot, and overall basketball IQ are below average.

I know a player that never gets reprimanded. He isn't even capable of winning without Hill. Yet, he never gets taken out for his poor performances. Can you guess who this players is?

The thing that bugs me the most about exum is how flat his shot still is. I understand that he hasn't been able to really work on it much but it has got to get better. I'm pretty confident that he will improve in other areas but his jump shot is so ****in ugly.

He had that ENTIRE year off between HS and the pros. He has a father who was a professional basketball player. Those who point out he hasn't played in 2 out of the last 3 years should also wonder why he wasn't spending the year off and his rehab (once he could start shooting again) developing a decent shot. Exum looks lazy in his demeanor. I think he has the off-season work habits of AK. Maybe he's into reading Australian novels.

If you are hinting at Hayward, I've called him out on several occasions. I'm still not sure Utah should tie up $30m on one player who isn't clutch and can rarely "take over" a game when the rest are struggling or out with injuries.

I'd rather have 2 or 3 Hills than 1 Hayward. Or not have to let Lyles and 1-2 others go because Hayward takes up 1/3 of the cap and Jazz can't/won't go into the tax for multiple years.

Hayward is very, very good. But he's not a superstar. And the Jazz WILL have limited resources starting in a couple of years.

Terrible take. First off, 30m number is irrelevant. That's just what players get paid now. Second, there are MAYBE 5 players in the NBA that can "take over" without any help. Third, Hill will probably only cost a few million less than Hayward, and no where near 1/3rd as much. Forth, should a team remain in a perpetual rebuild until they land a Lebron-caliber player? The whole thing is absurd.

Hayward is our best player. The Jazz should do whatever it takes to retain him. It's a no-brainer.

Oh so are we done rebuilding? Is this the record of a "contending" team? Is this as good as it's gonna get? Oh I know I know just wait for everyone to get healthy and experienced and used to Snyder's system, I know.

If you can't see that the jazz are fatally flawed then I don't know what to tell ya.

Right. Just wait until everyone is healthy. With the possible, unlikely, exception of Favors, players are missing games with minor injuries. Hopefully everyone will be back soon. We have the team that we have, and it's a good team. What is your thesis anyway?

Exum'a current situation is like driving somewhere with your wife constantly nagging you about which way you're going, how fast and constantly nitpicking ... of course you're gonna make more mistakes and be more indecisive under such conditions

Dante clearly lacks the assertiveness needed right now. Is it confidence or is it immaturity or just his mindset? Lets hope it is not the latter.

Jazz should send Dante to be mentally coached by Kobe on how to be a hard-headed, aggressive sucker on the court.
