Is Gobert the best Center in the Western Conference?

Gobert for Cousins and their 1st round pick - unprotected. Would you do it?

I still wouldn't, tbh. Rudy just makes everyone else better. Plus his amazing attitude and intensity.

I think Cousins is a player who makes the Kings better, because he's an offensive fulcrum. But on a good team, I don't see his impact, as he'd be less dominant and his weaknesses would be more impactful.
That being said from a basketball standpoint I'd do it under the condition that I'd be 100% sure that Favors back is okay. Adding a potential top5 pick under a fresh rookie contract could be big when it comes to salary cap management.

From a human standpoint I'd have trouble giving up Gobert. His defense is also very exciting for me to watch(I'm weird that way)
Add to that, that Sacramento really shouldn't do the trade. With every other franchise I'd say they wouldn't, but Sacto...you never know

Gobert is the best center in the NBA. Not just the Western Conference!

Gobert is currently 3rd in blocks per 100 possessions. Behind only Lucas Nogueira and some guy named Jeff Withey (seriously though he's been playing the backup role well recently)

I still wonder if the Jazz would've taken Lucas over Rudy if he was on the board..

Is sacto called you offer them favors for cousins.

Could you imagine

Gobert and cousins starting together?

Hill, mack, neto
Hood, exum
Hayward, johnson, ingles
Cousins, Lyles
Gobert, diaw, withey

Burks might even be in there bumping exum to 3rd.

That team could contend with any team in the nba.

I think at every position, besides SF, if you are the best in the West you are automatically best in the NBA.

You're right. Maybe SG also? If Harden is SG, then he takes it. If he's counted as a PG, then it's between Derozan and Thompson?

How about that dude on twitter who thinks Rudy was vastly overpaid and that Centers were pretty much irrelevant lol

George is a 3

I'm 100% confident George can defend any 2 in the league as good as the next guy. Thus he can play 2 and should be in the conversation. Butler also plays 2 or 3 depending on who else is on the floor.
For example when the Pacers play the Bulls and at some point the Pacers will bring a backcourt of Teague, Ellis and George. The Bulls at some point will play Rondo, Butler and McDermott. Even though George is the nominal 3, he'll probably defend Butler in this lineup and the Pacers will try to get away with hiding Ellis on McDermott.
Plus with how much (forced) early offense and switching happens on/off the ball, you have wing crossmatches all the time, which makes a pure '2' - '3' convo pretty stupid in the first place.
