The NBA and the league's Players Association have reached a "tentative agreement" on a new seven-year Collective Bargaining Agreement.


The deal must be approved by players and team owners, but this is terrific news for anyone who appreciates the NBA. The agreement would forestall a potential lockout and ensure that there's no CBA drama for years to come.
 
The Thunder, Pacers, and Rockets are among the teams that have expressed interest in trading for Rudy Gay, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical,
 
Nerlens Noel has a new agent, Dan Fegan. Reading the tealeaves on this move - I wouldn't be suprised if the Mavs throw him a big offer this summer.

Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry is poised to go from being one of the NBA's most underpaid players to a contract that will pass the $200 million threshold thanks to the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN that Curry stands to benefit massively from the new designated veteran player provision in the freshly agreed to labor deal, which sets up the two-time reigning MVP to triple his current salary of $12 million to $36 million next season.

Currently playing out the last year on a four-year, $44 million extension that he signed in October 2013 at a time that his long-term durability was still being questioned, Curry will be eligible in July for a new deal that sources say would be worth an estimated $207 million over five years, making it the richest contract in league history and paying out an estimated $47 million in the final season (2021-22).

This new rule enables a narrow selection of superstars who are willing to re-sign with their current team to receive up to 35 percent of the salary cap if certain benchmarks are met. As a two-time MVP who has played for the Warriors his entire career, Curry would meet all the qualifications for the maximum allowable salary. A player with Curry's experience level, under the previous CBA, would have been able to sign for only 30 percent of the cap.

Yah I've got him on my fantasy team, gonna have to drop him this week. A real downer. Luckily I've also got Sergio Rodriguez.

I think Portland is a bigger ticking time bomb. If they keep losing to inferior teams they might actually be in danger of losing the 8th spot.

I'll never understand why so many thought Evan Turner was better than Harrison Barnes last offseason. Portland is paying dearly for the error.


Portland has much more trade-able pieces tho, A move is certain if this play continues.. With the Bulls I feel like there's potential for things to get stale rapidly..
 
Did you see the Warriors had 26 assists on there first 26 baskets....and over 40 for the game? They will take out the Cav's this year in the Finals, no if, ands or buts about it!
 
Koufos is playing MArc Gasol almost to a standstill thus far in this one. Dunno why people think Gasol is better than Rudy..
