NBA, players union reach tentative agreement on new 7 year CBA

So reading these details on an upcoming Curry contract under the new CBA, I imagine Hayward's would be similar. We could offer him a boatload more than anyone else.

Unfortunately Hayward isn't eligible for this unless he makes all NBA this year.

Lebron, Durant, Melo, Kawhi, PG13, Giannis ... it ain't happening.

most of that sounds good. I just worry that with the salary cap going up as high as it is that the small market of Salt Lake is going to have a difficult time paying their athletes. I understand that the NBA is really big on keeping small market teams tho, so i figure they will work it out with revenue sharing.

National TV money is equally split among 30 teams. This was the driver for the cap increase. So small market teams are more profitable than before, with huge revenue increase and 51% of the revenue increase going to players. 49% of revenue increase goes to teams. Millers won't be in soup kitchen lines anytime soon.

Yeah but I bet it pushes yearly salaries down. You're not going to get a 5 without a discount. 6 will be limited to 1 per team.

Not likely that LeBron, Chris Paul & their ilk will be willing to sign for a discount. Criteria is all-NBA, MVP or DPOY to become a designated veteran player.

Agree it is a long-shot for Gordon, but if he continues this pace through the year, he'll make it a tough choice.

Voters pick from pool of forwards (not small forwards), so their are 6 slots available and more competition than you indicate.

LeBron
KD
Davis
Griffin
Draymond

Spot 6 will depend on how performance continues, might be fight between:

Gianis
Hayward
LMA
George

Long-shots:
Melo
Wiggins
Love
Milsap

I'm probably missing someone. Is Butler considered a 2 or a 3 these days?

I don't find that unfortunate. I would rather have him on a smaller max than a bigger one.
