What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

I watched 3 minutes of him playing, I saw he got the ball on a roll and went up super weak when he could have easily taken it to the rim hard. Is he recovering from an injury or just not athletic at all?

Probably just a case of him over finessing it. He's not a great athlete by NBA standards thats for sure but he's WAY better than Kanter, he's got some lift, he looks most athletic blocking shots.

Purifoy has 17 and counting in the 1st half vs Coastal Carolina. He's actually got some minor traces of Paul George and I'd even say Joe Johnson to his game..

I really hope he works himself into that 1st rd range near the Jazz picks.. He can be groomed to take over for Joe Johnson

what is the deal with PJ Dozier? 6-7 combo guard seems should be listed higher. Granted it doesnt look like he is super athletic and seems to play slow but late second rounder. He is shooting 41% from 3

I'ma big fan of PJ Dozier, have been for years. I used to post that I wanted UK to recruit him and that he's got some Alec Burks to his game. His 3pt shooting % last year was anomalous. He's also clearly gotten himself into better shape, he was a good bit skinnier last year. He's the son of a coach and plays like it.

He's certainly ranked way too low by DX in their sophomore rankings, BUT he had a fairly unique medical condition that could weigh on his stock.
Around the time Dozier turned 12 years old, he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee. He went to a doctor, who repaired the MCL but decided to leave the ACL alone out of fear that it could stunt Dozier's growth, which probably would have had a negative effect on his budding basketball career.

Over the next few years, Dozier played through the injury while continuing to earn accolades from recruiting analysts who knew nothing about it.

"It was nothing ever too serious to stop playing," he said. "I would stop for a week or two and then come back and feel good as new."

Last summer(2013), he tweaked the knee again. After another visit to the doctor and a family meeting, the decision was made to put Dozier's basketball career on hold and proceed with the surgery.

The Douglas County District Attorney’s Office has dismissed a battery complaint against University of Kansas basketball player Carlton Bragg and filed battery charges against a woman who accused him of striking her.

Saleeha Soofi told police Bragg punched her and pushed her down the stairs in a stairwell last Friday. Police said Bragg told them he had been in an argument with Soofi but didn’t strike her.

Police said in a Friday afternoon interview with Soofi, she said she might have struck Bragg first. That admission led to her arrest that afternoon, police said.

Surveillance video discovered on Saturday showed a man and a woman arguing in a stairwell and shows the woman shoving the man, striking him and putting her hands on his neck. Police said the video shows the man pushing the woman away and into some upward-facing stairs only after he had been hit.

Police said the surveillance video led them to dismiss the battery charge against Bragg and pursue a battery case against Soofi.

"This has been a difficult and humiliating experience for me and I'm glad it's over," Bragg said in a statement issued through Kansas Athletics. "I appreciate the authorities taking the time to get this right. I also appreciate the support of my teammates and coaches, and I'm glad I can put this behind me and move forward."

Coach Bill Self had suspended Bragg during the investigation. Self lifted the suspension Wednesday and praised Bragg for the way he handled the situation.

"He knew all the facts and knew that he needed to refrain from comment while the investigation took place," Self said in a statement. "We're glad the situation is resolved."

6'11" Michigan So. born in Berlin, Moritz Wagner is a player I posted briefly about last season when there were rumblings he was their best pro prospect before he really even started to play.

He's 13/25 from 3 so far this year and putting up 11.2ppg in 18.9mpg!! definitely a player to keep an eye on moving forward.

Combo F D.J. Wilson is also a UM player to watch, possible 2nd rd pick.

I'm not an active twitter user, I mainly use it just to search for recent updates on things. This tweet from some random NBA fanatic that has some sort of statistical model for the draftee's had me laughing though.

I'll post my 4.0 mock within a few hours. Melton is going higher than you'll see anywhere else.. his teammate Chimezie Metu is debuting into the mock too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoH61_Mpmwg

First year I can remember saying this but for this mock in particular It'd be MUCH quicker/easier for me to do 3 rounds instead of 2.. This is a brutal process of elimination or I'd have had the update out a few days ago..

He seems very intriguing to me, but what is the story with him? He seems to be 21 year old freshman? What is with that?

He was forced to redshirt last year, his ACT scores were flagged for some sort of issue. As you can see he spent plenty of time in the weight room..

Bruce Pearl has been calling him 'not a 4-year player' throughout the entire process.

From the very limited footage I've seen I'd definitely spend the GSW pick on him and maybe even our own. Have to watch more of him and preferably full games.

(#2)Frank Ntilikina is playing right now vs Russie btw. I'm actually putting his teammate (#6)Adam Mokoka in the 2nd rd too.. Here's the link

Frank just got a ridiculous block at the rim..

Be sure to check out (#45)Sekou Doumboya on the France team too. He might be the best propsect in attendance and is years younger than most of the competition.. also (#6) Adam Mokoka is a player I've posted about recently, (#11)Abdoulaye N'doye too.

No. 11 looks really good! Very smooth player. Is he a SG? Or can he play PG?

Agreed. One year of prep/bench-duty/d-league stints and then he can be eased into taking over Joe Johnson role.. Looks like he's got a pretty high basement right?

I'm putting him in the early-mid 20's in this mock.

Abdoulaye N'doye is a player I've mentioned here before, he plays for Cholet! Gets like no minutes on the ProA team. I was thinkng the same thing watching this. He can play PG, son of a coach IIRC, also read that he might be one of those players that prefers to play in Europe over the NBA. Way underrated on DX's international 98 rankings tho, clearly he's got potential.

LMK what you think of Mokoka if ya have an opinion.. He's got 6 boards... He's only like 6'4 but check out his wingspan, it almost looks like his arms are longer than John Wall's..

Doumboya led them in minutes, only 1/4 from the field but still he looks great. He turns 16 the day after this competition ends... LOL

He looks like an NBA wing. Purely physically that is. And his shot is pretty. And he has some creation skills... I need to watch more though.

On the FRA vs RUS game - Frank is not impressing me so far. Plays too upright on D. Telegraphs passes on O. There are some flashes(the 2 blocks) and the 3 off the dribble going to his left, but overall I expected to see more.

Edit: his D is actually pretty nice. He also made some nice passes. Now that's more like it. I still want to see him create off the dribble. He looks a bit... Exum'ish dare I say. I kinda liked Dante more in the FIBA tournaments, actually.

And just as i typed that, he got another couple of lazy possessions on D. Seems like inconsistent effort. His coach pulled him out of the game. Exum'ish dare I say? WOW, they are closing the game without Frank. Damn, didn't expect this.

Frank back in with 1:40 to go! Created a clean look from 3 after a drive and kick, teammate missed the wide open 3. Made 3/4 FTs in the clutch. France won, but it wasn't pretty. I expected more from Frank.

He's like Dante, a floor general. Don't mean this as a compliment or sleight but he's sorta got that oldman game, where if you've got a whole bunch of players with good 1st steps who can handle the ball on the wing you give it to Frank to sort of slow it down and sort things out, which we see from Exum in spots.

That was a surprising result, France shot it poorly. If Jeanne was eligible for this team they'd be much more dominant.. Lets see if that Russian big keeps playing so well and shooting 3's..

Borisa Simanic's on now(#12 on Serbia). [url[/MEDIAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVu9XjG04c8

Here's some footage of Felipe Dos Anjos the tallest C in my 1st rd mock, he's 7'3"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK9JrJ3APwE

Kostja Mushidi just unleashed a barrage of 3's on Finland.. His shot looks like his most immediately translatable skill.. Grayson Allen somehow will make it back on my mock (still gotta cut 6-8 names) but certainly not before Kostja.
