Jazz at Dubs Official Game Thread -- 8:30PM MT: NBATV, ROOT

On the positive side we limited them to only 23 three point shots and 39% on those shots. We forced them into a lot of midrange shots, which they made a pretty good amount of, but still better than them shooting 3's. We just have to limit TO's and fast breaks. 27 points off turnovers allowed and 24 fastbreak points allowed.

Hayward at least played. I'm annoyed that the Jazz had given up both games against the Warriors before the tip off. Either it's a lack of strong players or a poor training staff. Benching Favors tonight and not tomorrow was giving up too.

It was being smart.

Hayward needs a reality check. If he wants to win at the next level, he needs to be up for it at the next level.

Gobert overtaking him right now in that respect.

I wonder how Dante would be if he'd work on his shooting and conditioning. Any other team he would have barely seen the floor his rookie season. He got a chance because Trey sucked so badly.

It amazes me he had a full year off between HS and the pros and he apparently did very little to improve his game. This isn't some kid with no parental support. His dad was a pro. And Dante can't shoot? Can barely play 2 minutes with hanging his head and breathing like an old man with emphysema.

BUST!!!!

Jazz need to re-sign Hill and draft PG after PG with all their extra picks. Throw enough darts and one is going to hit the mark.

And as for Hayward...this is the guy we're going to reward with $30M+?

Rudy and Hill: those are the only two worth big money. Favors? Maybe. But I'm very worried about his injuries,

Yeah, you are dumb.

And Hayward has games of 32,25, and 22 against Denver. Terrible play obv.

I watched the game in Denver and he sucked. Came away very unimpressed. Definitely not deserving of being a top earner in the NBA.

He was and is significantly worse than four players on the other team tonight. You think he's better than Klay? homerlol

Yeah, what if Gobert had to guard a top 5 center of all time like Hayward is having to guard a top 5 SF of all time?

Gobert is great and a better talent than Hayward, but we have to recognize Hayward vs KD is not a favorable matchup and you can't place all the burden of creating your offense when that is the matchup he is in. "He doesnt deserve to be a max player then" OK, but good lucky finding anyone besides Lebron who can guard KD on one end and be the primary creator against him on the other.

He is, you are dumb if you can't see that. I'd like to see them give Klay the ball and tell him to create against KD while the entire team sags into to help on you and your PG is Exum/Mack while your starting SG is out with diarrhea.

Hayward was still our best perimeter defender tonight too.

My issue with Hayward tonight was offensive not defensive....

Offensively, tonight, Hayward was....

It's KD tho. derozan and kawhi Leonard would still get buckets. Haywards not them.

22-6-4 and the narrative on Hayward is still "Not good enough to give the max" good lord JFC are ****ing insufferable sometimes.

Leonard could barely get buckets against the Rockets tonight while he turned it over 7 times in a near loss (that Ginobilli and Danny Green pulled out in the clutch, not Leonard).

Hayward put 31-7-5 on the Rockets. Have any other false narratives?

Jeez... Klay is draining threes with a sliver of space while Hayward is left wide open to freely brick threes. Hayward finished with like six points or smth.

Realistically what could Hayward do tonight? He could have hit his open 3's, but he had no rhythm on those shots. His only easy look all night as an alley-oop. Everything else was 1 on 1 or and out of rhythm catch and shoot over KD's length. Yes he needs to play better, but I don't come away from this game thinking he was the problem. The issue was bigger than him and more a team thing and who we are missing rather than how any individual played.

He was 1/3 from the 3pt line....

Like I said, you didnt watch the game obv. Or most of the Jazz games this season it seems.

He's our 'best' player, he needs to learn how to score on iso if there's nothing going. Lillard, Cousins, etc. They can do that.

Also did you see that 'pass' he made to the 5th row of the stand?

If we're to take the next step, our 'best' player needs to take the same leap.

Hayward has unquestionably taken a leap this season. He's been one of the best isolation scorers in the entire NBA.

But I guess only this game counts and we can throw the rest of the season into the trash.
