Is George Hill God?

How does he protect something like that once he does start playing again until the stitches are out? Is that something you'd wear a mask for? And can we increase our hate for Len some more?

from my own personal experience stitches. it is just sit out 7 days-10 days for the wound to totally heal.
ofcourse with martial arts. you gotta be 21 days out before taking hits to the area again!

nothing much can be done. 21 days before the area can take a hit again!

so the question is a mask might save it. but yeah would you risk getting hit, in basketball the risk of getting hit to reopen the wound is relativly small. so i say if stitches is the issue count 7-12 days before he is back.

speaking from my eyars of experience in martial arts and getting and seeing lots of stitches!

I don't hate Len but he hit a couple of Jazz players with those Elbows. After the 2nd one someone should have leveled him with a pick or something.

There are times that a hard, aggressive foul is needed.

Hill is OUT for tonight v Boston. Read a tweet that the bigger issue is the stitches and not the concussion. That his face his pretty messed up. 22 stitches and that Hill could reach through his lip before the stitches. Len jacked him up.

This is the old school Stockton and Malone mentality showing through, but if the concussion is a non issue, why isn't the guy playing with a sewn up lip? Maybe I'm being extra hard on Hill due to the fact that it seems like we are constantly missing guys to injury, but c'mon man. Play with a sore face for hells sake.

There have been no reports that he has passed the concussion protocol.

Agree. I'm starting to think Hill is a *****...as great as he's been on the court, he needs to suck it up a little more when in comes to injuries. ****, Kyle Lowry had a stitched lip (during the game) and still came back out and torched the hell out of the Jazz.

Wow, and I was just about to get offended that The Jazz were plus 6 tonight.

Without Hill that sounds about right. Thomas is gonna run circles around Mack.

did you really just compare Lowry's injury to Hill's and conclude they were basically identical?

if Hill had a choice in this, I'm sure he wouldn't be out. It's not the lip thats keeping him out, its the NBA concussion protocol. The testing is computerized, so it's not like he can just lie to a doctor and sneak back into playing time. Players and coaches do not get to determine when the player comes back. Please see below for more info on NBA concussion protocol:

"The first step to returning to action states the player must first be symptom-free at rest. Once the symptoms dissipate, the injured player can than sit for a neurocognitive test, most likely the ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) test. Due to the variability amongst concussed athletes, the ImPACT testing allows for each individual to be properly screened.

The test is conducted on a computer and analyzes the individual’s status through neuropsychological tests that include memory recall, immediate shape and color recognition and matching. The results are compared to a set of baseline information gathered on each athlete prior to the start of the season. Before an athlete can progress to the next step in the recovery process, their IMPACT scores must return to their initial baseline numbers. From there an athlete must remain symptom free following a progressive increase of activity, starting with riding a stationary bike and concluding with non-contact team drills.

Once the player has completed these steps, Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, the Director of the NBA’s Concussion Program, will be contacted to discuss the final clearance for return to play. The time needed to complete the process varies from player to player and predicting how Thompson will react is difficult."

Any bets how many games Hill will be out? He's at 2 so far (I realize it's been all bad luck)? I'll say 8

He literally just got 22 stitches in his face and had a hole in his face from that elbow. Total wimp...

Kyle Lowry is at-least half a maniac, he's tough as nails and certainly has some crazy threshold for pain.. He's certainly an extreme standard to hold Hill up to. Lettuce not forget Hill is still playing well-over his pay grade..

With the season being the grind that it is, and considering the Jazz are in cruise control even with the injuries -- there's just no reason to do anything too risky (a.k.a. Greedy) ....

Hill is not playing above his pay grade. You have to play in more games to play above your pay grade. He is playing great in the games he has been in this season though. Also Lowry's injury was completely different. People try and compare things as well. I am guessing Hill has wanted to play more than what the team staff is letting him play. It is not usually up to the player.

People have all sorts of different ways of defining/justifying prices. For me, I've found that "Things are worth what people will pay for them" is damn accurate, aka let the market decide.. if you use that definition not only is George Hill underpaid, but he's vastly underpaid.. I think the markets gonna appraise his worth about 150-200% more than 8MM per season..

I am qualified to talk about stitches in your face since I extended the side of my mouth to the tune of 20 stitches once. It was a gnarly injury and not one that you could go out within a few days and do anything really, especially an NBA game. The swelling was serious and your body goes into shock a bit.

Dude got concussed and 21 stitches in his face... which was apparently completely messed up. Did not go to the ground... just held his face and walked off the court. Said it hurt a lot but he didn't want the opponent to think he hurt him...

Yes he is a total *****.
