What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Marylands Justin Jackson is shooting 43% from 3 on 3 attempts per. If he keeps that up I can easily see some team taking him in the 25-40 range

Sneaky loaded schedule for quality matchups and prospect watching tonight.

UNC @ Wake Forest is a great opportunity for John Collins to make a statement (IF UNC doesn't blow their doors off on the perimeter)

Doral Moore's making his #74 rank in DX's Sophomore list look ridiculous in this first half vs #11 UNC.

He's just scratching the surface. Has prototype starting c size and really solid mobility hands and explosion plus he's got a good frame. Doesnt turn 20 for another 2 weeks too...

He's definitely one of the hidden 7-foot gems in college, and as you can see here - legit 7', **** probablymore like 7'1..

BTW Jaren Jackson Jr(MSU Commit) who I've been posting about in the 2018 thread has many parallels with Alpha Kaba(very similar builds) except Jaren's a much more fluid athlete.... Definitely a superior prospect in my book even though Kaba's shot is better(Jaren's is funky).

I'm kinda down with the wait til 2018 to get bigs train of thought.. there's certainly at least some substance to it... I wouldn't want to overlook this years crop but next years crop of bigs being stronger looks like a safe bet..

what a show from Peter Jok tonight. He's definitely good enough to get drafted in the late 2nd even considering his advanced age.

30pts for Markannen tonight..

Zach Collins with another beastly line for Gonzaga off the bench in limited minutes. He pretty much plays 'the Enes Kanter role' for them..

Huge win for Utah over USC. Metu showed well. Poor night for Melton offensively. Not Kuzma's best game but a W over a ranked opponent is a nice W.

Ivan Rabb with 20 and 14 in a W over Washington. Not a good game from Fultz.

Right now Colorado-UCLA looks like a good game.

Aaron Holiday would start for like 98.5% of the teams in Div-1. He's the difference in this game thru 20 minutes of play. His games been razor sharp all season and doesn't appear to be dulling down any..

Marques Bolden can't possibly be this bad. That injury must stil be bothering him..

Again Kennard is doing the heavy-lifting.I once posted arund when he committed there that I thought he'd be better than JJ, he's starting to approach that status for them... Certainly way better than Jon Sheyer.. lol

Kennard might be the better shooter but no way in hell is he a better player then Jon AT THIS MOMENT, Not even close and come on bro you cant really believe he is either.

I was saying since start of big10 play last season that Jok is going be a solid nba player. Perfect 3D canidate

Jackson needs another year of college, imo. He is a tweener at this point of his career. Needs to improve his handles and shooting and then he could be a top 30 draft selection. Another year in the Big10 and he could be a heck of a college player. First team All BIg next year and if Melo comes back another that will only help Jackson development. I think Melo is going be a better pro then he is a college player

Even tho UW stinks, Matisse Thybulle could end up a good roleplayer. He's got a long way to go but best case he ends up like a Danny Green type. His wingspan looks like a legit 7' IMO he's sorta built like Exum. He's very limited with the ball in his hands tho, guys like that tend to go undrafted - see Wayne Selden.

Doesn't turn 20 til March so he's got time. If I was him I'd test the waters this year and probably wait til 2018.

Ivan Rabb isn't gonna fall to the Jazz but it'd be a Hood type of No-brainer pick if he did. He'd perform well defensively and on the glass immediately..

Fultz has the potential to be extremely efficient on just 2 or 3 or 5 dribbles - in that sense he's got some Steve Francis to his game. This is probably understated on the list of reasons why he's gonna be devastating(and why he's going #1).

This is not a good showing from him though, especially in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half - The Huskies really could've used an injection of offense from him.. Probably cost them the game, doesn't mean a damn thing tho. Markelle's pretty much cemented himself at the top spot on the board IMO, I'm sold. 99/100 grade.

Watching the Cal-Washington replay btw. Announcer just said "Sometimes I look at Ivan Rabb and think he's left-handed" Been posting here he's like David Lee on offense for years!! Defensively/on the boards he projects to be something like an Amir Johnson.

Career-high 31pts along with 12boards 3ast 1stl 2 blks for BYU's Eric Mika last night vs San Francisco. Despite his advanced age he's certainly on the fringe of being draftable.

BTW --2017 would've been Exum's final year of draft eligibility. I know people here complain about my tendency to look years ahead, In my view this stuff passes rather quickly tho.

Not sure how much you guys have been talking about Indiana's Thomas Bryant in this thread, but he looks to me like he'll be a better player than Derrick Favors. Real shooting touch (44% 3-pt%), real feel and footwork around the rim, plus a longer standing reach. He looks like he would be a mid first-round value-pick version of Karl Towns. I think he'd be a lottery pick in any other draft.

Glad I'm not the first to bring up a Karl Towns comparison in this thread but now that the ice has been broken - I'm pretty sure Justin Patton is that dude..... he really throws some INSANE passes for a bigman just like Karl, his build looks to me almost identical to Karl's.. He's a damn good 3pt shooter for that size too... There's certainly many parallels the passing is really what gets me hung up..

As for Thomas Bryant he's due for a bump into the 1st rd in my next mock. He's going to be a productive player with a long career, is he going to be a star? I think not, I prefer Favors because of his ability to defend 2 positions. His 3pt shooting is a legit storyline boosting his stock tho. I'd imagine it would make him a good target for the Jazz to groom as Rudy's backup.

I've heard he's a bit of a diva and some teams might not like that...

I like Bryant and I agree he is a bench back up type of player. He has what I call old man legs.

I think as a change up type of reserve. Great low post game.

I would take Patton over Bryant 100 out of a 100 times.

"I didn't think it was a possibility for me to go to a division 1 school" ... This hasgotta be the best story in college basketball this year..
