I found this thought provoking. Normally this kind of thing is pretty pretentious, but this one gets you thinking.

So porn is bad, umkay.

Sorry man, that was one of the stupider things I've seen in a while.

Porn, consensual sex, comedians telling raunchy jokes, these things are not immoral. They do not degrade us. They do not lead to a lower form of human life for all of us.

I don't recycle much, but yeah, not recycling is more immoral than porn.

A lot of porn is really degrading to women. But I agree that it's not inherently immoral.

Contradicting your own Trump hate. We all know you love Hillary an irrationally hate President.

An Log, duh. Murrica is a hateful divided society. They only care when the other party is doing it.

That's not the point of the video. The video just says since Americans havent been perfect Christians (I couldn't finish the video, but I assumed he told everyone to worship Jesus at the end)we created Trump through our love of vulgarity, violence, crudeness, and general "immoral" stuff. I turned the video off after he blamed the TV show "Friends" for making people feel like it's OK to admit to watching porn.

I've been exceptionally clear on one point. I do not "love" Hillary and now that she is not an option to prevent Trump from being president I don't give half a **** about her. If she died tomorrow I wouldn't really give it any thought. I've said that my feelings about her as a person do not matter. I considered her a competent politician and remain unconvinced of her terrible evilness.

This cycle was the first time in 12 years I voted for a Democrat to be President, so please don't act like it's "my" party. Anyone who isn't a politician who considers their self a Democrat or Republican is silly, in my opinion. Exceptions made for anyone who actively participates in campaigns or works directly with a political organization.

Nah, he didn't make an appeal to find Jesus, but mostly continued with the idea that because Friends and Beyonce make references to sex and pron that we got what we deserved in Trump.

So it took Jesus 20 years to punish us for watching Friends. Not surprised. Dude is Middle Eastern. I play racquetball with a Middle Eastern friend, and he's never been less than 30 mins late.

There is no way this dude isnt a youth minister.

My personal apologies than. I really like it when peoples are understood for what they really mean.

I like Trump disregardless of all the dumb stuff the media says he says. If you do a ounce of fact checking or research you will find out most of the hype is HYPE.

Yet many of you treat me like i am a plague cause I think a dumb *** speaking ******* is better then a lipstick on a pig.

You always neg me for saying that. What am I suppose to assume?

Trump is pushing things the left an the right want. I give the guy a chance.

So we have to go to YouTube to watch the video. Too much bother. I can see what it is already.

Yes, indeed the dude is a Youth Minister from some small little Christian outfit. No Jesus has nothing to do with any of this.

This is a rehash of the old idea that people get the government they deserve, and it involves validating the over-eager critics of Trump. I remember how the Press dealt with JFK and his affairs with say Marilyn Monroe, and Carter's "I have sinned" confession, and Bill Clinton in the Oval Office. I didn't vote for a Chief Saint, I don't think those come in political colors.

But I know a lot of folks who have worried about their welfare and our country under Obama like they've never worried before. These folks have turned the Dems outta office in 2010, even 2012 when Obama was re-elected gave the Rs the Senate, and despite virtually nothing being done to advance what the people had voted for, they voted again against the Dems in 2014, and now 2016.

Anyone who can't see a trend in that line, who really believes the Dems have the right to rule this country, or the CFR or the globalists for that matter, just don't believe in Democracy. Or, to be more specific, in a Constitutional Republic as our Constitution calls for.

These voters deserve better politicians who will do the stuff the people want.

Really.

bottom line, my take-away from the video - we as individuals and we collectively as a society are just a hot mess of contradictions

no surprises there

I respect the office of the President, but I do not respect men who degrade and think its ok to sexually assault women.

also, lets wait and see how exactly Russia interfered with this election....

bumping this 'cause I have something I want to post (a link) but now I can't find it - but I don't want to lose this thread while I search for it...

OK, it's another of those "why Trump won" articles

perhaps paints Trump supporting, particularly the "working class" with an overly broad brush, but it had some interesting tidbits that I thought made sense

What So Many People Don’t Get About the U.S. Working Class

QUOTE
My father-in-law dropped out of school in eighth grade to help support the family. Eventually he got a good, steady job he truly hated, as an inspector in a factory that made those machines that measure humidity levels in museums. He tried to open several businesses on the side but none worked, so he kept that job for 38 years. He rose from poverty to a middle-class life: the car, the house, two kids in Catholic school, the wife who worked only part-time. He worked incessantly. He had two jobs in addition to his full-time position, one doing yard work for a local magnate and another hauling trash to the dump.

Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, he read The Wall Street Journal and voted Republican. He was a man before his time: a blue-collar white man who thought the union was a bunch of jokers who took your money and never gave you anything in return. Starting in 1970, many blue-collar whites followed his example. This week, their candidate won the presidency.

For months, the only thing that’s surprised me about Donald Trump is my friends’ astonishment at his success. What’s driving it is the class culture gap.

One little-known element of that gap is that the white working class (WWC) resents professionals but admires the rich.
Class migrants (white-collar professionals born to blue-collar families) report that “professional people were generally suspect” and that managers are college kids “who don’t know **** about how to do anything but are full of ideas about how I have to do my job,” said Alfred Lubrano in Limbo. Barbara Ehrenreich recalled in 1990 that her blue-collar dad “could not say the word doctor without the virtual prefix quack. Lawyers were shysters…and professors were without exception phonies.” Annette Lareau found tremendous resentment against teachers, who were perceived as condescending and unhelpful.

Michèle Lamont, in The Dignity of Working Men, also found resentment of professionals — but not of the rich. “ can’t knock anyone for succeeding,” a laborer told her. “There’s a lot of people out there who are wealthy and I’m sure they worked darned hard for every cent they have,” chimed in a receiving clerk.
/END QUOTE

It's funny, but it rings true to me and reminds me of a couple friends of mine. It's weird, but they have more respect for someone with "old money" than they do for a doctor who works long hours to earn a low six-figure income.
